This year, Manchester City Council is hosting a grand Christmas market. Ten markets will be set across the city centre, with over 200 huts filled with Christmas crafts and festive food. Most excitingly, the largest Christmas market at Albert Place, which has been closed for the past six years due to construction at Manchester City Hall, will make a grand return as "A Taste of Christmas," transforming into a magical world brimming with festive cheer.
Manchester's Christmas markets return on Friday, November 7th, and run until December 22nd. The "Christmas Food Festival" at Albert Place, the ice rink, and the stalls in the Church Gardens will remain open until January 4th. Craft stalls will be open daily from 10 am to 8 pm, while food and beverage stalls will be open until 9 pm. 
The “Christmas Food Festival” at Albert Square is the heart of the market, featuring a walking experience area, games area, traditional carousel, a 50-foot-high Ferris wheel and spiral slide, as well as traditional stalls. A local councilor believes this giant Ferris wheel may be “one of the world’s largest.” In addition, the Cathedral Gardens houses the Manchester Ice Rink, and a lively Christmas parade will run through the city on December 7th.
