St John's Cathedral

St. John&#39;s Cathedral in Hong Kong is a historic church located on Garden Road in Central. It is the oldest Western-style church building in Hong Kong and the only freehold land in Hong Kong. I visited St. John&#39;s Cathedral last Saturday and was very interested in the architectural style and historical background of this church.
The foundation stone of St. John&#39;s Cathedral was laid in 1847, and it was completed and consecrated in 1849. The director of surveying, Cyprus, participated in the design of its architectural plans. The church adopts Gothic architectural style and is mainly composed of three main buildings, namely the cathedral itself, the auxiliary church and the office building. The interior decoration of the church is simple and solemn, with seats dedicated to the bishop, seats dedicated to the canon priest and cathedral pastor, and congregation seats engraved with the British royal emblem. There are also some monuments and plaques in the church that record some important figures and events, such as the British soldiers and civilians who died in the defense of Hong Kong during World War II, Hong Kong&#39;s first Chinese bishop Zheng Zhenduo, etc.
St. John&#39;s Cathedral is not only a religious place, but also a cultural heritage that has witnessed the historical changes of Hong Kong. The church is also actively involved in social services and enterprises, such as establishing counseling services, life initiation centers, foreign worker ministry centers, bookstores, second-hand goods stores, etc., and cooperating with organizations for people with disabilities to open coffee shops.
I think St. John&#39;s Cathedral is a place worth visiting not only to appreciate its architectural aesthetics but also to understand its historical significance

Hong Kong Disneyland is a family-friendly mini-theme park with a compact layout that allows for quick exploration on foot. Celebrating its 20th anniversary in 2025, the park features themed decorations and limited-time events. It offers a wide variety of attractions, including the &quot;Frozen&quot;-themed Frozen World. However, some visitors have reported inconsistent service, a limited number of floats, and short parades, making it a poor choice for families with limited time or young children.

Although the aquarium&#39;s hours are long, the service is truly superior to Disneyland. Asking for directions was met with a smile and detailed answers. However, I suggest the mountaintop rides could use an extra staff member during weekends when it&#39;s crowded. One staff member has to operate the rides and check each visitor&#39;s seatbelt, which makes for incredibly long waits. You can see dolphins up close, so overall, the aquarium is definitely worth a visit with your kids.

It was fun, even though it was limited to 3 hours. After finished at Legoland, there were still other fun games in the mall for kids to enjoy &mdash; they could play the whole day!
