Ymunwch â ni i edrych ar y cysylltiad rhyfeddol rhwng planhigion a chelf, gan archwilio sut mae eu symbolaeth a’u hystyr wedi esblygu o’r canol oesoedd i’r oes fodern. Mae’r sgwrs yn datgelu’r sawl ffordd y mae planhigion wedi ysbrydoli mynegiant artistig drwy hanes. Ar ôl y ddarlith, gallwch fwynhau taith gerdded dywys drwy’r ardd, ble byddwn yn dod â’r syniadau’n fyw. Gan ddefnyddio enghreifftiau o waith celf, byddwn yn archwilio sut mae planhigion penodol sy’n cael sylw mewn gwaith celf yn cael eu hadlewyrchu yn y dirwedd fyw o’n cwmpas.

Botanical Muses: Art through the Ages

Join us for a fascinating look at the connection between plants and art, exploring how their symbolism and meaning have evolved from the medieval period to contemporary times. This talk reveals the many ways in which plants have inspired artistic expression throughout history. After the lecture, enjoy a guided walk through the garden, where we’ll bring these ideas to life. Using printed examples of artworks, we’ll explore how specific plants featured in art are reflected in the living landscape around us.
All events are free to attend, but donations are welcome. All proceeds go toward the support of Plas Newydd Historic Gardens.
