The Newark Museum of Art is thrilled to kick off the highly anticipated Newark Arts Festival Opening Night on September 27, 2023. This momentous occasion will mark the beginning of the festival and serve as a celebration for its signature exhibition, "Cross Cultural Perspectives." Showcasing the incredible talent of over 90 visual artists from Newark and beyond, this captivating group exhibition will be housed in the Special Exhibition Gallery, as well as expansive spaces on the first floor.

Attendees will be treated to a night of unforgettable performances by renowned artists such as Janetza Miranda, Hezekiah "Hez" Crockett, Trezure Empire, Snazzy Jazzy, and DJ Fade. The evening will not only celebrate "Cross Cultural Perspectives" but also pay homage to the 50th Anniversary of Hip Hop. This extraordinary event will bring together various sectors of Newark's vibrant arts and culture community, fostering a deeper connection among its members.

In addition to the main exhibition, guests can also appreciate the Newark Public Schools Teen Exhibition, "Bridging Borders: Embracing Cross-Cultural Perspectives," located in the Program Hall on the Mezzanine level.
