Akin is a dedicated Cuban doctor working in Brazil under the Mais Médicos program in 2018. As he builds a deep bond with an Indigenous community, the election of Jair Bolsonaro forces a choice: return to Cuba and leave behind the relationships he's forged or stay in Brazil and reinvent himself without the ability to practice medicine.

Entrance
Please enter The Newark Museum of Art through the Main Entrance for all screenings and events during the Newark Black Film Festival. Due to construction, this will be the only entrance used for the Festival.
Seating
All NBFF screenings offer open seating on a first-come, first-served basis. Accessible seating for guests using wheelchairs or with mobility needs is available on the right and left sides of the auditorium in the back. When the auditorium seating fills, additional seating will be available in our overflow space.
