Oktoberfest is the world's largest "Volksfest" (German for "folk festival"). Combining a beer festival and a funfair, it takes place annually on Theresienwiese in Munich from mid-September to the first Sunday in October. If German Unity Day (October 3) falls on that Sunday, the festival continues until the end of the holiday.
The event attracts approximately 7 million visitors; in 2023, the number of visitors reached a record high of 7.2 million. That year, visitors consumed approximately 7.4 million liters of specially brewed Oktoberfest beer. The grounds feature rides, games, food stalls, and traditional Bavarian cuisine. On October 12, 1810, Crown Prince Ludwig of Bavaria married Princess Theresa of Saxe-Hildburghausen. Munich officials invited the public to celebrate in the fields outside the city walls; the following year, the field was named "Theresienwiese" (Theresienwiese), and is still known as "Wiesn" today.

As the summer palace of the Bavarian royal family, its architecture and garden design are very ornamental.
The palace itself is a magnificent Baroque building with a front facade that is hundreds of meters long and magnificent. Many original decorations and furniture are preserved inside, which is very stunning. Each room is like a time capsule that travels back to the 18th century.
