In September 2024, Icelandic-Danish artist Olafur Eliasson (b. 1967, Copenhagen; lives and works in Berlin) presents a new site-specific installation made for The Geffen Contemporary at MOCA. In line with Eliasson’s career-long exploration of light and color, geometry, and environmental awareness, the installation playfully engages with material and immaterial qualities of the museum’s architecture. A series of large-scale optical devices designed specifically for MOCA Geffen will respond to the building itself, as well as to the everchanging atmosphere of Los Angeles. Visitors will encounter a dazzling range of sensory experiences that harness the laws of geometric optics to address feelings and concepts of embodiment, perception, and participation.

[Scenery] A most brilliant pearl among the numerous coastal islands in California, USA. The island is centered on Avalon Bay. This azure and crystal-clear crescent-shaped pier was an excellent place for pirate ships to hide and enter during the Spanish occupation more than 400 years ago. The white &quot;Crescent Beach&quot; is picturesque.
[Fun] Avalon, the only city on the island, is connected to San Pedro and Long Beach on the mainland by ferry and flight. There are seal habitats and underwater parks on the island.

A must-visit project. Few people came in February, and all the projects were easily completed in one day. I took my children to learn about the filming base of the movie, and the experience was full. If you are a fan of American dramas, you must come here. Many scenes of classic American dramas are here

Besieged by commercial noise: The streets are filled with cheap souvenir shops, high-decibel music, and artists selling CDs, and the environment is noisy and chaotic. The romantic imagination of &quot;starlight&quot; is easily shattered by reality.
