Contemplated Commotion is an introspective body of work that delves into the complex struggles of identity. Rothman's ceramic objects are thoughtfully categorized into themes of personality traits, reflecting her own inner battles and aspirations. By exploring the concept of self-labeling and the overlap of identities, Rothman challenges conventional notions of identity formation. 

The exhibition seamlessly blends elements of calmness and chaos, organization and movement. The domestic space represents the calm and organized traits, while the abstract form embodies chaos and constant change. Rothman skillfully merges these contrasting ideas, creating gray areas that blur the boundaries between familiar and unknown. The viewer is encouraged to interpret and connect with the pieces based on their own unique perspectives and experiences. 

Madeline Rothman, also known as Maddie Mae, is a multi-talented artist hailing from Pittsburgh. She graduated from the Tyler School of Art at Temple University with a BFA in Ceramics in 2018. With a passion for both ceramics and photography, Rothman has honed her skills through various experiences, including working as a production artist and a studio assistant. Currently based in Philadelphia, she continues to create captivating artwork in her personal studio while sharing her knowledge through teaching handbuilding classes.

Philadelphia was once the capital of the United States, so there is plenty of history, museums, monuments, and sites around the city. The Philadelphia Museum of Art boasts a nice array of exhibits. I visited on a Friday evening after work because museum admission is free Friday evenings (pay what you wish). I did pay for parking at their garage, which was only $5.

I feel that the attractions in downtown Philadelphia are really excellent. This monument near the Freedom Bell is unified and managed by National Park. Opposite the Freedom Bell is a large visitor center. Here you can consult the travel guide for Philadelphia. The staff and volunteers here are also very enthusiastic. Help to give travel advice and answer consultation questions. There is also a small souvenir shop here, you can buy refrigerator stickers, books, postcards and other related Philadelphia souvenirs. There is also an exhibition in the visitor center. Although it will be more mini-pocket than the museum, it still does not affect the number of tourists here. If you come by car, there is also a parking lot on the ground floor of the independent palace visitor center for everyone to park. Although parking in downtown Philadelphia is not very convenient, parking spaces are not very easy to find. I recommend everyone to come to the underground parking lot of the visitor center to park. If you come in peak season, you need to come to the visitor center to apply for the ticket for the visit of the Independence Palace first, but I don&rsquo;t know if it&rsquo;s because of the epidemic. You don&rsquo;t need to get a ticket when you come. You can enter the visit directly.
