During this captivating workshop, participants will gather around a metaphorical 'pool' of words, brimming with unseen entities. While some might associate these apparitions with ghostly encounters, rest assured, they are not intended to be frightening. Instead, we will explore the intricate worlds-within-worlds and everyday alternative dimensions, delving into the realm of the water boatman's graceful movements and the awe-inspiring metamorphosis of tadpoles. Through our exploration, we will uncover the inherent queerness present in nature itself.

Drawing inspiration from both the minute intricacies of life and the vastness of the cosmos, we will examine watery poems and those that play with scale to manifest otherworldly vibrations. Together, we will collaboratively create poems that celebrate the vibrant life found in ponds, the fascinating creatures that inhabit them, and the terrestrial aliens we coexist with.

Caleb Parkin brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to this workshop, with his poems featured in numerous journals and anthologies. He has also published three pamphlets and a collection titled 'This Fruiting Body' (Nine Arches, longlisted for the prestigious Laurel Prize). Furthermore, Caleb holds an MSc in Creative Writing for Therapeutic Purposes and is currently pursuing a practice-as-research PhD at the University of Exeter, focusing on the fascinating topic of RENEW Biodiversity.
