HCA is currently undertaking a variety of stewardship and invasive species management initiatives in and around Valens Lake Conservation Area. To help inform residents, provide opportunity for engagement and participation, and expand the impact of the environmental work, HCA is inviting community members to a free information session and community event at the Valens Community Centre. HCA ecology staff and technicians will touch on invasive species in the Valens community and best practices for their removal, as well as the HCA’s Hamilton Watershed Stewardship Program staff will highlight projects to improve water quality and wildlife habitat in the Valens area and sources of funding available to landowners interested in undertaking conservation projects on their properties. Attendees will also have the opportunity to network with neighbours and conservation authority staff to plan, collaborate and share ideas for the stewardship of this ecologically valuable area.

What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event?
The meeting location is Valens Community Centre, located in Puslinch, Ontario. Public transportation to the site is not available. Attendees will be responsible for getting themselves to and from the event. Parking is available at the community centre, and we encourage that any families/friends that may be attending to carpool.
I want to bring friends or family members, can they tag along?
Only registered participants can attend the event, which will be confirmed by an email prior to the event. Please have any additional family/friends/children etc. register.
What other IMPORTANT things do I need to know?
Pets are not permitted to this event. Washroom are available on site. If your plans change and you aren’t able to attend, please let us know as soon as possible so we can make spaces available for others interested in attending by cancelling your EventBrite registration or contacting the event coordinator below.
