Pippy Houldsworth Gallery presents Muta, a sculptural presentation by London-based artist Rosie Gibbens in The Box, the gallery's micro-project space.
Working in performance, video, sculpture and photography, Gibbens explores gender performativity and consumerist culture as it relates to the female form, combining an absurdist humour with abject aesthetics. Gibbens’ sculptures range from the animatronic – armatures that are part exercise machine, part medical device, part sex toy – to fabric-based works that are plush and cartoonish caricatures of body parts. These sculptures are often re-purposed for the artist’s ‘chain reactions’, consequent performances that amplify and critique every-day activities. Her practice examines specific fragments of the Female condition, with references drawn from her own experience of motherhood to Female archetypes found in gothic horror, true crime dramas, canonical Art History and medical journals alike.

Buckingham Palace is definitely worth a visit. I booked my tickets through Ctrip and arrived at Gate A half an hour early to exchange them. Then, I went to Gate C and waited for the staff to hold up a sign indicating my entry time. Photography is not allowed inside, and backpacks must be carried by hand, so it&#39;s best not to bring them. After passing security and entering, I received an audio guide, available in Chinese, that provided a comprehensive explanation. The tour lasted about an hour, and at the end, I walked around the lawn and exited through the back door.

The Tower of London is an ancient castle with a very large interior. We spent 5 hours visiting it with a Chinese audio guide. The British royal crown is stored here and it is really beautiful, but it is a pity that we cannot take photos of it. There are some free-roaming ravens raised in the castle, which are considered the castle&#39;s mascots and are quite interesting.
