One of the Heard is an exciting event taking place in Redditch, featuring a book launch for a collection of diverse voices from Worcestershire. This celebration has been made possible through an open call, which has resulted in a compilation of poems from various groups and workshops, including Mind A Chat?, Headway Worcestershire, Worcestershire Association of Carers, and Arts in Redditch's Paolozzi mosaics 40th anniversary celebrations. Thanks to the generous funding from The National Lottery, The Word Association has coordinated this project and is delighted to invite you to join in the launch of this excellent book. Attendees will receive a complimentary copy of the book and have the opportunity to listen to readings from the contributors. The event will be hosted by the talented Jemima Hughes, a multi-slam winner known for her captivating performances. Limited open mic slots will be available, so arrive early if you want to showcase your own work. While this is a pay-what-you-feel event, a suggested donation of £5 (or £3 for students or unwaged) will support future endeavors to bring more outstanding performance poets to Redditch. The venue for this event is The Old Needleworks Foundation in Redditch, which is renowned for providing mental health support and learning opportunities to the community. In addition to hosting courses and recreational activities, the foundation also serves as a hub for local charities and creative industries. Join us on 3rd January 2024 at The Old Needleworks for a night of poetry and celebration of Worcestershire's diverse voices.
