The temporary bauhaus-archiv presents "Hands on Nails," an exploration of Nail Art from artistic, social, and economic perspectives. "Hands on Nails - we are open" serves as a platform for discourse. The project takes inspiration from the Nail Studios that have become a ubiquitous presence in urban landscapes. But what lies behind this everyday phenomenon? Who are the individuals driving this industry and the communities that have emerged from it? What motivates them? Is Nail Design considered art, craftsmanship, or a service? And what connection does it have to the Bauhaus movement?

This event, titled "Spielfeld:Körper," will feature happenings and talks that delve into these questions. It will provide insight into the industry through presentations by Maria Alcaide, Eily Thams, and Camilla Inge Volbert, who will showcase "The Managed Hand," "Object of Love," and a Nail Art Performance, respectively. The event will also include a discussion with renowned figures in the field: Camilla Inge Volbert (nailsvoninge), Eily Thams (Thams does Claws), Maria Alcaide (The Managed Hand), Charissa Chioccarelli, and Magdalena Bonamin (isla Berlin).

This discourse salon will be conducted in English and will be held at the temporary bauhaus-archiv in Berlin on December 14, 2023, from 3:30 pm to 9 pm. Admission is free.
