Get ready for an unforgettable weekend of endurance, camaraderie, and pushing your limits! We are thrilled to invite you to the 2024 4x4x48 Challenge at SRA CrossFit, happening on the weekend of October 11-13, 2024. What is the 4x4x48 Challenge? This challenge, inspired by endurance athlete David Goggins, is designed to test your mental and physical strength. Here’s how it works: 4 miles every 4 hours for 48 hours: Participants will run (or walk) 4 miles every 4 hours, completing a total of 48 miles over the course of 48 hours. Start Time: The challenge begins on Friday, October 11th at 5 PM and ends on Sunday, October 13th at 5 PM. The gym will be open the entire weekend and will function ad challenge HQ and base camp. Check in will begin at 4PM on Friday, October 11. Community Support: Whether you’re running alone or with a group, you’ll be surrounded by a community of like-minded individuals who will motivate and encourage you every step of the way. Do I Have to RUN the Entire 48 Miles? There are a number of options for folks of various fitness levels to complete the challenge. The baseline challenge is to Walk or Run 4 miles every four hours for 48 hours. When your time comes up, you go. You can also do a 45 minute workout every four hours instead of walking or running. You could row or bike 4 miles every 4 hours. You can break the mileage up however you want. You can alternate running and walking as needed. Just get it done. ANYONE can do this! The average walking speed is 20 minutes per mile. So even if you walk the 4 miles, you would still have 2 hours and 40 minutes to rest between rounds. Why Take the Challenge? The 4x4x48 Challenge is more than just a physical feat; it’s a mental challenge that will push you beyond your comfort zone and help you discover new levels of resilience and determination. It’s an opportunity to bond with fellow athletes, set new personal records, and experience the incredible atmosphere of our SRA CrossFit family. What Does it Cost? Nothing. Zero. Zilch. $0.00 This challenge is FREE for anyone who wants to participate. You do NOT have to be a member of SRA Crossfit. You WILL need to have a legal Guardian present and their written permission if you are under 18 and participating.
