The Berlin Biennale for contemporary art takes place every two years at different locations in Berlin. Since its first edition in 1998, the Berlin Biennale has made it its mission to create space for renowned curators with experimental exhibition and event programs and to present bold artistic and political positions independent of the interests of the art market. The Berlin Biennale explores international artistic developments of the present that make the hidden and unknown tangible. Each edition brings together artists, theorists and interested parties from various areas of society, thus opening up a dialogue with the city's residents.
The 13th Berlin Biennale for Contemporary Art takes place from 14 June to 14 September 2025 and is curated by Zasha Colah. Valentina Viviani is assistant curator.

If you&rsquo;ve already made it to Berlin, I highly recommend climbing the stairs to the top of the Berlin Cathedral for the panoramic view. However, it really depends on your luck&mdash;during my visit the dome was under major renovation, and most of the view was blocked.Be prepared: the staircase has many steps, and the walkway at the top is quite narrow. When it gets crowded, you can&rsquo;t stay up there for long. For the best experience, I suggest visiting after you&rsquo;ve explored most of Berlin&rsquo;s major sights&mdash;seeing the city you just walked through spread out beneath you makes the view even more rewarding.

Charlottenburg Palace is beautifully preserved and gives you a real sense of Prussian royal life. The interiors are elegant and richly decorated, and the overall layout of the visitor route is well organized, making it easy to follow the story of the palace as you move from one room to the next. The gardens are also very pleasant for a walk, especially in good weather.One important tip: tickets can sell out quickly, and timed entry is strictly managed. I highly recommend purchasing tickets in advance to ensure a smooth visit and the best experience.
