The 2025 Jeffrey S. Moorad Sports Law Journal Symposium “Investing in Sports: The Future of Sports Financing” The 2025 Moorad Symposium will feature speakers and panel discussions on the topic of sports finance. This is a changing and evolving landscape that has recently seen the infusion of institutional capital and private equity funding. We will look at different methods of investing into a new asset class — sports -- that appears to be forever growing and recession-proof. Industry leaders including investors, lawyers, bankers and analysts will provide a detailed and fascinating look at this growing area. Friday, April 5th 2024 9:00 a.m. -1:00 p.m. Arthur M. Goldberg ’66 Commons John F. Scarpa Hall Villanova University Charles Widger School of Law 299 N. Spring Mill Road, Villanova, PA 19085 The Pennsylvania Continuing Legal Education Board has approved this event for 3 Substantive CLE credits. *Please note CLE registration for this event is required but is open for general admission. Agenda Panel 1: Will examine the changing sports investment industry, the rise of private equity and the challenges in negotiating, drafting and structuring sports investments in this new age. There will be investors and lawyers who work in M&A and for sports entities. Panel 2: The second panel will look at sports investing from the league and team side, analyzing the ways leagues and teams are now funding this asset class, a different way than in the past with the rising team valuations. We will have league and team executives and lawyers involved in structuring these investments. Panel 3: And our final panel will address the legal issue of the moment: the changing landscape of college sports due to the pending House settlement, which has a final approval date of April 7th. We will have representatives from the college sports industry and lawyers addressing this issue from all angles.
