As our lives become increasingly shaped by the glut of garbage and information, The Gatherers brings into focus current artistic practices grappling with global waste and excess. Featuring fourteen international artists—many showing for the first time in a US museum—the exhibition includes sculptural installation, assemblage, painting, video, and performance. While artists have rummaged for centuries, the exhibition underscores how retooling detritus has new meaning for a generation contending with the impacts of recent world orders, such as the ongoing fallouts and failures of globalization and neoliberalism. Artists in The Gatherers render politics as spatialized in the built environment, drawing attention to how histories reverberate into the future.

Central Park is very fun. There are large lawns and many squirrels running around. You can rent bicycles and ride horse-drawn carriages in the park. It is also nice to just walk around. There is a huge children&#39;s playground not far from Columbus circle. Children from all over the world who come to New York come here to play. They can play in the sand and water, and there are slides, swings, and rockeries. It is easy to play for half a day. There are also many people playing on the lawn. Many people there like to throw frisbees. Many families come here for vacation. It doesn&#39;t get dark until about 8:30 in the summer in the United States, so it&#39;s no problem to play in the park for a whole day!

Bryant Park

Bryant Park is adjacent to the New York Public Library. It is named after the American naturalist poet William Cullen Bryant and is a public space covering one block.

In the middle of the park is a large square lawn; on the east side is a statue of Bryant, with his back against the New York Public Library, looking at the tourists in the park; on the west side of the lawn is a fountain; and around it are a circle of tables and chairs for tourists to relax and rest.

Perhaps because it is in a busy city and next to the library, there are quite a lot of tourists in the park, it is very lively and full of life.
