World reknowned designer and embroiderer Laura Lees holds her intimate, enriching, even riotous workshops in the heart of Edinburgh. Participants will be able to create a totally individual piece of textiles. This can take the form of customised clothing, creating embroidered textiles for interiors, cushion covers, wall hangings or designs for upholstery. This will be accomplished with a variety of techniques. Freehand machine embroidery, applique and hand embroidery, all explained in a relaxed, friendly and creative environment.

Tapestry and textile artist, maker and master embroiderer Laura Lees works on a broad range projects, from high end interior design as well as her own art and private commissions.
Initially running her own fashion label in London with diffusions for Topshop and Selfridges, Laura evolved her work to include her love of architecture, design and interiors and is now a sought after consultant and maker for clients as diverse as RIBA, Waldoworks, Bard and hospital arts charity Artlink.
Keen to share her knowledge Laura also holds The Mighty Stitch workshops exploring the benefits and joy of embroidery, held nationally and from her studio in Summerhall.
