THE POWER OF SILENCE - with Lee White
THREE HOURS. $75.

Location: Carousel Theatre Studio
Thoughts from BTC: in this workshop, 2025 Comedian-in-Residence Lee White highlights a very underrated approach to improv: keeping it quiet. Lee is very, very good with words but has also been known to do beautiful, hilarious scenes without anything – something we could all aspire to. Heck, even train towards.
On to Lee’s description:
Improvisers all over the world have one thing in common. They all talk too much on stage. We can see the potential in building tension when we start to use silence as a tool. Silence and less words in general can not only add to the intensity of the scenes, it can activate the audience’s imagination and invest them more in the scene.
This workshop explores techniques to help inspire your scenes to be more efficient and effective with less words, more emotions, and the potential to spark the audience’s minds.
Special note: in order to bring Inbal and Lee all the way from Berlin to Vancouver, we need your help! To make these classes happen,
 
we need you to register by April 14th
. If we have enough registration in their classes, we will confirm via email that the classes are running and get some fancy flights arranged.
We wouldn’t be making this pitch if it wasn’t worth it: these are some of the best improvisers working and it will be so cool to have them collaborating with us this June!

 – Registration is non-refundable within two weeks of a class' start date. Refunds for class fees are available prior to the two week cut off, however Eventbrite fees will not be refunded. If you have any questions or concerns about refunds, please email

Stanley Park is located in the heart of Vancouver, Canada, and is one of the largest urban parks in North America, covering a thousand acres. The park has more than 400 hectares of forest and is scattered with 500,000 trees, including hundreds of meters of Douglas fir, 800-year-old cedar, moss-dropping maples and a century-old western red cypress. The sea wall trail, which is fully paved with rocks and built by the sea, completely surrounds the entire Stanley Park, which is Vancouver&#39;s most distinctive slow-running trail, bicycle lanes and roller skating routes.
