Join the writing workshop titled "‘This pain is not just our own’: A writing workshop on gendered health" in Oxford on March 9th. The workshop, held at The Community Works, aims to address the feelings of isolation that often accompany pain. Drawing inspiration from Rachael Boast's poetry anthology, participants will explore the experience of living with chronic illness during a global crisis. Through discussions and creative writing exercises, both in poetry and creative non-fiction, attendees will delve into the personal and collective suffering surrounding illness. The workshop will encourage reflection on the connection between our bodies and the world around us, and explore ways to build caring, creative, and communal responses together. Led by Rachel Piper, author of Care Curriculum, this workshop will draw on her expertise in co-producing healthcare services and her research into solidarity and ecology surrounding Endometriosis. The session is organized by LIT, a reading and writing group for cis and trans women, trans men, non-binary people, and people of other minority genders.
