
Lift Workshop for Family Caregivers
Does your loved one have trouble with mobility? Are you worried about how to help them out of bed or out of a car? Or, do you just want to be prepared for what may lie ahead?
During this hour and a half program, our guest physical therapist will lead you through the proper and safe techniques to transfer your loved one who has mobility issues due to Parkinson’s disease. 
This program is intended for family care partners only. 
There will be 5 interactive stations 1) Sit to stand 2) Transfer in and out of bed 3) Transfer in the bathroom 4) Transfers in and out of the car 5) Lastly, how to get up off the floor. Each caregiver will participate, rotating to each station and practicing with other caregivers. You will also learn when it is necessary to seek help.
If you have physical limitation, please let the instructors know before class.
The class is limited to 10 participants. If you are unable to attend this workshop, please call our office as soon as possible so we are able to allow others to participate in your place 800-426-6806. We anticipate this being an ongoing workshop so there will be other opportunities.
This program is adopted from the National Parkinson’s Foundation Ohio that we are happy to bring to Oregon and our Parkinson's community.

mily Kaemmerlen, PT, DPT is owner of Boomerang Therapy Works.
Emily graduated from Western Oregon University with Bachelor of Arts degrees in psychology and dance. She has studied at the Laban/Bartenieff Institute of Movement Studies in New York City, receiving the title Certified Movement Analyst. Prior to physical therapy school, she spent seven years working at a physical therapy clinic in New York City with patients on exercise and movement. She earned her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Columbia University in 2017 and shortly thereafter relocated to Portland. In 2021, she became the owner of Boomerang Therapy Works.
Emily is passionate about helping people reach their goals and live their best life, regardless of diagnosis.

At first, I thought it was just an ordinary suspension bridge. It didn&#39;t seem to be anything special. The ticket price was expensive, and the cost performance was not good. Later, I saw a 50% discount on Viator. I planned to board the cruise in the afternoon, so I went anyway. When I arrived at the gate, I found that there were many tourists. As expected, I had to queue up to get on the suspension bridge. Fortunately, I only queued for about 15 minutes. I thought it would be better to go earlier if there were fewer people. This attraction is still very fun to take children. Although we have been to the Wangtianshu Scenic Area in China before, the treetop adventure section is similar, but here there is a task list for children at the entrance, and they can exchange small gifts for completing it. There are many introductions about animals and plants. You can listen to the explanation according to the schedule, and you will also have the opportunity to touch the animals. It is suitable for children to explore and discover by themselves. The Hawk who likes to bask in the sun is very cute.

Stanley Park is located in the heart of Vancouver, Canada, and is one of the largest urban parks in North America, covering a thousand acres. The park has more than 400 hectares of forest and is scattered with 500,000 trees, including hundreds of meters of Douglas fir, 800-year-old cedar, moss-dropping maples and a century-old western red cypress. The sea wall trail, which is fully paved with rocks and built by the sea, completely surrounds the entire Stanley Park, which is Vancouver&#39;s most distinctive slow-running trail, bicycle lanes and roller skating routes.
