Walk 17, The Cressage Circular, covers a picturesque 15-mile route starting from Ironbridge and returning via the Severn Way. The journey takes walkers along an ancient drover’s path towards Cressage, passing through charming villages and scenic landscapes. Expect a moderate to strenuous level of difficulty with brisk pacing through fields, woodlands, and quiet lanes, including some muddy sections. Sturdy walking shoes and appropriate gear for varying weather conditions are a must. The walk is not recommended for dogs. Children aged 12-18 can participate if accompanied by a responsible adult. Adequate preparation with water, snacks, and suitable footwear is necessary as there are limited facilities en route. Medals are awarded for completing various distances over multiple walks during the festival, including the prestigious Cartman Challenge for those exceeding 150 miles.
