During the two-day period of the Kentucky Oaks and the Kentucky Derby, race-goers consume an astounding 125,000 Mint Juleps, requiring over 10,000 bottles of bourbon, 2,250 pounds of mint, and 475,000 pounds of shaved ice. 

One bourbon that holds a special place in the heart of the Kentucky Derby is Woodford Reserve, the official bourbon of the event. Since 1999, Woodford Reserve has been producing a Kentucky Derby Bottle, featuring captivating horse racing-themed art. In 2023, the bottle showcased the legendary Secretariat, commemorating the 50th anniversary of his record-setting time of 1:59.40, a record that still stands to this day. 

And that's not all! The event will feature a special guest, retired sportscaster Doug Ormay, who will share his insights and experiences covering an astonishing 24 Kentucky Derbys, beginning in 1986. With his vast knowledge and expertise, he will provide a unique perspective from the Press Box, having also covered other prestigious horse racing events like the Breeders Cup, Kentucky Oaks, and the Bluegrass Stakes.

I had the opportunity to visit Hawaii Volcanoes National Park on the Big Island of Hawaii, USA. It is an amazing place where we can see the crater of a volcano that is still moving molten rock (there are only a few places in the world). It is easily accessible. We will receive excellent knowledge in geology, including natural beauty, including plants and wildlife that are unique to this area. If you are interested in geology, you will not be disappointed. P.S. If you are lucky, you will see hot molten rock flowing in a red line.
