Before 2008, the area around the Bird&#39;s Nest was wasteland. There were almost no roads; people just passed through. The terrain was uneven, with only one temple, &quot;Rangrang Temple,&quot; also known as the Beiding Niangniang Temple. This place used to be very desolate. In the 1960s, I studied at the Beijing Flight School in Weizikeng, not far from here. To find a quiet place to study, I often went to the vicinity of the Beiding Niangniang Temple. The surrounding area was full of abandoned cemeteries, so there was absolutely no one to disturb us. Therefore, for me, this place is also a memory.

The land for the Bird&#39;s Nest was reserved for the Beijing Olympics. In this extremely valuable area, finding such a large plot of land was very difficult.
