A must-visit artsy livehouse in Chengdu! MAO Livehouse is incredibly photogenic, and even on a rainy day, it has a fantastic atmosphere and amazing live performances.

Opening Hours: 5:00 PM - 12:00 AM daily

This unique blend of Chinese and modern architecture hidden in Vanke Plaza is so cool! It&#39;s incredibly photogenic both day and night! I especially love going in the evening; the interplay of light and shadow on the building under the setting sun creates a beautiful and layered effect. The show usually starts at 8 PM, but I recommend arriving an hour early to take photos and get more great angles when it&#39;s less crowded.

Here are a few excellent spots:

1. The traditional Chinese-style corridor at the entrance; it has a charming Jiangnan water town feel on a rainy day.

2. The corner of the modern-style staircase; the light and shadow are fantastic on a sunny day.

3. The atrium on the side of the performance hall; you can capture the fusion of music and architecture.

Tips:

- It&#39;s recommended to book tickets in advance through the MAO WeChat official account.

- Tianhui Vanke Shopping Mall is nearby, with many popular restaurants for dinner.

- The cultural and creative street opposite the livehouse is also great for taking photos and strolling around.

The location is superb &mdash; just outside Chengdu &mdash; where you can see over so many giant pandas, red pandas and their cubs in one place! Just don&rsquo;t go during China&rsquo;s Golden Week holidays (first 8 days of Oct every year) like me, where it will be extremely crowded.

It was pretty good! The children learned a lot. We hired a guide specifically for them. We arrived early, and the guide cost 30 yuan per person. Only the three of us kids got a guided tour, and the effect was fantastic. By the time we finished our visit around 11 a.m. and were ready to leave, there were noticeably more visitors.

Teacher Dazhi&#39;s explanations were erudite and profound, making the historical and poetic intersection of Wuhou Temple both historical and poetic. He not only connected the past and present but also imbued every brick and piece of wood with character and warmth. This was not just a lecture, but a cultural journey that touched the soul. Five stars!

As for the Sichuan Opera tea break experience, I personally think it&#39;s better to go to a larger-scale Sichuan Opera performance for a more spectacular experience.

If you&#39;re going hiking, be sure to bring a jacket (it&#39;s winter now, so it&#39;s best to bring a warm one)! You&#39;ll sweat on the way up, and your clothes will be soaked with sweat by the time you reach the top. Going down is easier, but the exercise isn&#39;t as intense, so you&#39;ll feel cold 🥶. And then, those with weaker constitutions might just catch a cold (like me 🥺).
