Nestled on the Goshonō Plateau in Akita City, Jizōden Ruins “Yayoikko Village” is a rare archaeological park showcasing a restored Yayoi-period settlement surrounded by double wooden palisades. Visitors can step inside reconstructed pit dwellings and wooden fences to imagine life over 2,000 years ago. Free admission allows exploration of both the reconstructed village and the adjacent exhibit facility housing artifacts from the Paleolithic, Jōmon, and Yayoi eras.
