Once seen as an obligation, marriage is now viewed as a choice.
To explore the reasons behind this shift, the Seoul Urban Life Museum conducted a comprehensive survey and studied the marriage culture of Seoul's citizens across different eras last year. The findings are now presented in this year's special exhibition.
Soon after the liberation in 1945, the country faced the Korean War. Still, Korean society has rapidly grown with the Miracle on the Hangang River, and marriage customs have evolved alongside this growth. Seoul's marriage culture, shaped by traditional values and foreign influences, continues to change.
We invite you to reflect on Korean society's journey over the past 80 years after independence through the lens of Seoul's marriage culture to foster deeper generational understanding and empathy.

had so much fun! waited less than hour for T Express and it was worth it! love the hurricane ride so much! sadly the rock spin opened at 3pm and i had to go back early to Seoul that day but i will definitely come back here again. imo, this is better than Lotte World (price wise and the fun!)

Myeongdong Beacon Tower, located in Namsan Park in Seoul, South Korea, is also known as the &quot;Mokmisan Beacon Tower.&quot; Reconstructed in 1993, it is not the original historical structure, but it still possesses a unique charm.

From a historical and cultural perspective, the beacon tower was built during the Joseon Dynasty to transmit urgent military intelligence from the border to the central government. It served as a vital communication hub for the capital for over 500 years, demonstrating its crucial role in ancient military communications.
