Did you know about Trip Coins, our reliable loyalty program which rewards you for simply going on and sharing adventures with us? Whether you're a seasoned globetrotter or planning your first adventure, Trip Coins helps you save while exploring the world. We’re here to help you unlock extra savings on flights, and this guide will show you everything you need to know about earning, redeeming, and maximising your Trip Coins for flight discounts, hotels, and other travel services.
What are Trip Coins?
Trip Coins are our very own digital currency that we’ve designed to reward travellers for their bookings and engagement on the platform.
It’s really simple - whenever you make a booking (whether that’s a flight, train, hotel etc.) or share your thoughts (specifically writing reviews or sharing your experiences on Trip Moments), you’ll receive Trip Coins into your account. These can then be redeemed for discounts on flights, hotels, and other services, making your travels even more budget-friendly. It’s our way of saying thanks for travelling with us and allowing you to keep exploring!
Note that 100 Trip Coins provides a discount of $1 in USD. However, the actual value can vary slightly based on current promotions and exchange rates. For eligible flight/hotel bookings, 25-80 Trip Coins will be earned for every $100 spent. For eligible hotel reviews, the amount of Trip Coins rewarded will be based on the length of text, whether photos are included & other criteria.
For flight bookings, Trip Coins will be added to your account typically three days after your departure date. If your booking includes more than one flight, Trip Coins will be added to your account three days after the departure date of the last flight on your booking. For hotel bookings, Trip Coins will be added to your account within two to six weeks after check-in has been confirmed. Sometimes it can take a little longer for us to receive confirmation from the hotel.
How to earn Trip Coins
Earning Trip Coins is surprisingly simple. Here’s how you can start accumulating them:
- Book flights, trains and hotels: You earn coins on every confirmed flight, train or hotel booking - it’s that easy! Note that the number of coins you earn is proportional to the amount you spend, giving you more rewards for bigger trips.
- Complete reviews post-trip: We love travellers who spread love and wisdom, and the best way you can do that is to leave reviews and memories of your trips. Share your travel experiences by leaving reviews for flights or accommodations and you’ll earn bonus Trip Coins for helping other travellers make informed decisions.
- Participate in promotions: It’s always worth looking out for exclusive campaigns that offer extra coins. For example, during seasonal sales or special events, we occasionally reward additional coins for specific bookings.
- Refer a friend: Love Trip.com? Share it with your friends! When your friend signs up and completes their first booking, you’ll both earn Trip Coins as a reward once they make their first booking.
