How does train WiFi work?
Train WiFi in the UK combines mobile network signals, trackside infrastructure, and onboard technology to provide internet access while on the move.
For the most part, trains connect to the internet primarily on 4G and 5G mobile networks through roof-mounted antennas picking up signals from multiple mobile networks such as EE, Vodafone, O2 etc., switching between them to maintain the best possible connection.
