The location of the inn is very good. It is in the ancient city. It is very close to the main street and scenic spots. It is convenient for eating and playing. I really like the small yard in front of the room, where I can drink tea and chat with my colleagues. The front desk and waiters are friendly, the cleaning is timely, and the facilities are complete. They also gave small gifts to each room when leaving, which is considerate and recommended.

Nice place, Nice location; you can walk to the Ancient town, I took along time to catch nice scene along the city wall, park and canal. To get the hotel from Datong South Railway Station by bus no.31 from the bus station side(the area is connected), take around 30 minutes to get there (Yungang Jianguo hotel, the hotel is opposite, only 2 CNY, many food and minimart around there. There is Muslim food there if need(next to the entrance of C(behind the building). Nice service, self check-in, clean room and relaxing. the owner, you should to contact the owner before arrive, she so friendly and always help you, she suggested us about the famous local food and restaurants(Thank you so much). If you need to buy some necessary item and cannot buy at the around minimart, you can walk to the Yonghui Superstore by East side (the next junction) turn right to Yuhe West rd. (At the corner). From the hotel tobget Yungang Grottoes, you can take bus no. 31 (Yungang Jianguo side), get off at Shi Li Dian Cun Xi ( West Shilidian village), cross to another side and catch bus no.12 to the terminal stop(is Yungang Grottoes. Take 1 hour or 1.30 to get there.

The whole courtyard is a Qing Dynasty building with a sense of age. The decoration in the room is great, the sanitary conditions are also very good, the boss is very enthusiastic, the explanation is very detailed, and the restaurant recommended to us in the ancient city is also very delicious. Another wonderful stay with the lovely Pipa Inn. If you travel to the gorgeous old town of Datong, this is where you must stay!!! The staff are so friendly, the rooms and hotel are beautiful, great location in the middle of the old town and the inn can arrange a driver to get you to all the historical sights. Highly recommend.

It's just across the street from Huayan Temple. Go there when it opens at 8am to avoid tour groups and large crowds. The room is large, and the upstairs is quiet, clean, and thoughtfully provides disposable bath towels and toilet seats, as well as body lotion and facial cleanser. The proprietress is kind and friendly. Datong is not cold at the end of October. Come and experience the charm of ancient buildings in Shanxi! I went on a spontaneous trip with my friends. I chose this homestay because I was attracted by the decoration style of the villa. I stayed here for 4 days and 3 nights. I have to say that it was really comfortable. The staff was enthusiastic, the service was in place, the station was picked up, there were fruit snacks every day, and delicious Tremella pear soup was delivered after the trip. All kinds of bottled water and drinks were free to drink. The breakfast provided was also very fresh, and you can arrange the time for the dishes in advance. The owner is really friendly, speaks good English and is doing everything to make you enjoy your stay. He did explained very well all the activity and provide help if needed. The room is clean and we didn't care about the size as we were out all day. If I have to suggest one thing, it will be to have bigger mattresses as they are quite hard but it's a personal preference.

The hotel is registered as one of the historical buildings in Pingyao ancient city. The hotel is beautiful, decorated with wooden ancient-style windows and doors with small courtyard in front of our room. Inside the room is modern style, spacious and high ceiling while the outside yields an ancient atmosphere. We also like the hotel location. It is in a quiet area but easy to commute to many attraction spots with not a too long distance walking. We have no complaint on overall facilities. The owner and his wife are also friendly and helpful.

I could not enjoy the patio because of the mosquitoes but it is really very charming! The young woman at the reception and the Ayi (the aunt who takes care of breakfast and cleaning) are people with a heart of gold who will do everything to enhance your stay. You have the choice of Western or Chinese breakfast, personally I enjoyed the Chinese breakfast which is typical of the region. I recommend this hotel 100%!

Very beautiful guesthouse with amazing patios! Very nice owners! The lady can speak English and help book tours with a guide which helped us a lot. Breakfast available, both Chinese and continental. My family (2 adults and 2 teenagers) stayed at 陆合景客栈 for 2 nights when we visited Datong. The hotel was very beautiful, and the family room was excellent. The beds we comfortable, and the room was very well equipped with all the necessary amenities for a comfortable stay. The hotel was very nicely decorated to match the atmosphere of the ancient city. I would like to especially give commendations to Ms 任红霞 and Mr 付强. Both of them provided exceptionally good service during our stay and made sure that all our questions and needs were fulfilled. They are exceptional staff of the hotel and I hope the hotel management rewards them for their hard work. Highly recommend this hotel to anybody who is looking for accommodation in Datong ancient city.

All in all, the overall facilities, environment and service attitude of most employees are very good. But there is a young lady who loves to roll her eyes, as if someone owes her money. Every day when she sees us, she has a deadpan expression, has a cold attitude, is very unfriendly, and loves to roll her eyes. I had a blissful stay at Tangyan Courtyard - every part of it was smooth (including the dreaded passport check-in, which they didn't bat an eyelid at) and there were so many unexpected details. The bath was great (and there was enough hot water to fill it ok), the bed was one of the comfiest I've encountered in China, and the property is beautiful. It's definitely worth spending a night in Datong before or after the Yungang Grottoes to stay here.
