The hotel is a remodeled building from a very old building.
You can park on the road in front of the hotel, and it is easy to find because it is near the church.
There is no elevator, so you have to be careful when carrying heavy luggage.
The room size is just right for sleeping, and it is set up sensibly.
The bathroom inside is small, and you have to be careful when using the shower. At first, I was surprised that water came out from above, and the water pressure needs to be high to convert it into a shower hose.
The staff were all friendly, and the breakfast was good.
The hotel is very well located with very friendly and competent staff, good service, friendlyness and information. The hotel was very clean and well-signified, and the room was comfortable enough but there was a small table because there was nowhere to put the computer for normal use. Not so the bath was completely insufficient by the size of the bath. It was just in, and for example to use the washing machine simply to wash your hands was swallowed the whole floor as it was ”minimalist” of 30x20 cm.; the cup of the bathroom without little place and the shower-mampara just to be able to move. The hotel is very comfortable and very comfortable.
Solar Antigo is a must-visit in Coimbra for anyone seeking a top-notch experience. We stayed in a room with a jacuzzi and a stunning view of the city, which we thoroughly enjoyed. It was my wife’s birthday, and the staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed and celebrated. They even included a small cake with a candle for the in-room breakfast—such a thoughtful touch! The welcome sparkling wine and cake were also a delightful surprise. Their exceptional attention to detail and outstanding customer service truly set them apart. Highly recommended for an unforgettable stay!
Beautiful building and spacious rooms
Centrally located, within walking distance to main sights. The building is nicely renovated. Rooms are spacious. A comfortable place to stay in Coimbra.
Nice inexpensive hotel. There is a kitchen with everything you need and a pretty large dining room. In the bathrooms everything worked. Everywhere is pretty clean. Now about minus. How often in Portugal the rooms are not warmed up. And if it's not hot on the street, then the room feels like in the cellar. Only two dop. blankets are provided for assistance. Staff on the respiratory is not always present. Usually only at the second half of the day. And the maid works only before lunch. If you have to change towels in the evening, you can't do it. The administrator has no access to them and you have to wait for the maid next morning. And more. Communicating with the hotel before settlement is quite difficult. They do not respond to messages in messengers. You only need to call, and if you don't speak freely Portuguese or English, it can be useless.
We stayed in the room on the second floor.
I had to climb a little steep stairs with a heavy suitcase, but the staff was very helpful to carry it. If you have heavy luggage, I think you can support it if you tell it in advance. The staff were very kind.
The building and the room were clean, and there was a kitchen and it was good to be able to cook simple food.
The only thing I was worried about was that the voice was easy to pass through, probably because of the structure of the building, and the conversation of the receptionist and other guests was easy to reach the room. However, there was no big noise when we stayed and we were able to spend comfortably.
Overall, it was a very comfortable stay.
The lady...is a Lady and she was kind attentive generous and I felt completely welcomed...it was as if I was staying at a living relative. Although the room was small the bathroom was ample. The room gad a query nook area by one of the two window areas...the view of the water was calming and simple, I could hear the birds in the shady trees outside my tall romantic window setting. The whole place was spotless and fresh smelling ...the bed comfortable. All looked new. It was near to everything. If I have to want anything it is a disposable shower cap. She allowed me to take her tea-Kettle to my room for my convenience which added to my comfort. Although we did not speak the same language we understood each other. I would love to return again soon. Thanks much 😊
There is a free parking lot nearby. It is very close to the city. If you check in at night, there will be no one but there will be a password information. I saw the staff in the morning and found that the people were not bad, but the room was relatively small. Not a suite but an ordinary double room.

GGuest UserGood place. nice, handsome people. I needed to postpone the check out 1h and it was possible. The room smells huid. The walls with humidity. It was difficult to breathe in the room. The morning when I was waking, the walls and windows filled with water/humidity.
I work in Health. I know this is a very serious condition for the respiratory health of those who stay there. One night I had to sleep with the openest window to smell the humidity. I think they were in the room, and I think they were in the room, and I was not informed that they would come in without my knowledge.
