Flexistay Leicester Gable Aparthotel
3.7/596 Reviews
Functional and spotlessly clean, this exceeded my expectations. I just wanted a bed for the night while visiting friends, but this would be an ideal place to stay if you were on a work visit. I didn’t use the kitchen or laundry room, but I can see these would be very useful if you were staying for an extended period. The iron and ironing board in the room was a useful addition. It was hard to cool the room with only one opening window, but it was one of the hottest days of the year when I visited. There are only three parking spaces, but plenty of parking available on nearby roads. Having the co-op just down the stairs would be very useful if you were staying for any length of time. Very impressed and I would definitely stay here again.
Belmont Hotel Leicester

This was the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. I was really reluctant to write this review as everyone I spoke to at the hotel during my stay was helpful and friendly, the staff there were top. However after complaining about the stay when checking out, again the woman I spoke to was lovely but said a manager would need to get in touch. It’s been four days and the owner/manager hasn’t. I gave them the opportunity to get in touch and see what went wrong, now I just need to be honest about the stay. This was the worst night sleep I ever had, in a hotel or otherwise. We paid for a suite, so one of the nicest rooms in the hotel. However from the moment we got in the room it was unbearable. The heat in the room was like being in a sauna - that isn’t an exaggeration. We went around the room to see if there were any radiators on that we didn’t spot! Unbearable. There is no air conditioning in the room just a tiny fan left on the side for us to use. That provided no relief. Maybe your thinking open a window, they are prevented from opening more than a few inches. So we were just stuck in this unbearable room with no alternative. In order to get the 2 hours sleep I did get that night. I had to get up and stand in a cold shower multiple times. This was a stop on a road trip my wife and I were having for our honeymoon. I rated all the other hotels 5 star they were amazing. This put a real downer in our otherwise perfect trip. I was embarrassed picking this hotel to stay in as one of our stops. Avoid it like the plague.
Winstanley House

Unfortunately, we had an incredibly bad experience this weekend at Winstanley House - a hotel that is incredibly overpriced for the value and service it provides. Just a few 'highlights' - we paid 135 GBP as a 'special rate' as part of a wedding group. On the day of arrival a gentleman from the hotel called us to inform us that we had to pay an extra 35 GBP per night for our 'kids bed' - when I asked him why such high charge - he informed me that this would also cover the breakfast for the child - When I expressed my shock of charging 35 GBP for a baby breakfast (18 month) - the charges were dropped to 10 GBP - still the first ever place I visited ever that charges for a baby cot - especially at this price segment When we arrived a gentleman just outside the hotel informed us that we can under no circumstances stop in front of the entrance (despite there being no other cars or the risk of blocking the driveway) - I politely asked him if we can at least get our luggage out as we are travelling with a baby and it's quite hard to bring all our luggage all the way from the car park to the entrance - he initially agreed but eventually forced my husband to leave the luggage in the drive way unsupervised (!!!) and move the car without even being able to bring the luggage inside the hotel. (10 steps). Meanwhile I had gone inside with a baby on my arm and one of the suitcases with me and had waited patiently as there was no staff at reception ... suddenly a women came from the restaurant area and welcomed me with a friendly 'WHAT DO YOU WANT' - I informed her that I would like to check in (clearly that wasn't the obvious guess seeing a person standing at reception desk with a suitcase next to her) - a very rude welcome. The room overall is dated - has the tiniest single wardrobe and absolutely no place for any belongings other than a narrow small desk. One bedside table was entirely covered by the coffee machine - the other by a gigantic lamp. The window in our room did not open at all and was glued. The air condition while working - had parts hanging half loose. The bathroom also has essentially no place for personal belongings or toiletries not event a glass for the toothbrush ... In any case - we wanted to freshen up and used the sink only to find out that it was blocked - we eventually went back down to reception and informed the 'friendly' lady - only to be told that there was no maintenance person in the property (4:30 PM on a Friday) and we would have to wait until the next day! Long story short - she did not inform the maintenance guy - we left the hotel early the next morning to attend the wedding ceremony and we we came back at 1PM the sink was still blocked - DESPITE ROOM SERVICE clearly having attended the room - the reception knew nothing about the sink either when we reported it for the second time but eventually came and unblocked it. We know that room service was in the room as we had a friendly letter on our bed that room servi
OYO Blaby Westfield Hotel

Ramada Encore by Wyndham Leicester City Centre
4.3/575 Reviews
Leicester City Center
As a hotel owner I’m always very sceptical when staying elsewhere. The Ramada Encore was spotless, something which is usually a major concern for me. The bed was comfortable, the shower was lovely with great water pressure. Check-in and check-out were seamless, staff were very friendly and accommodating regarding my late check-in and request for a later check-out. Breakfast options were great for the average person, but as someone that eats low carb I was limited, but knew this when I paid for it, plenty of food available at the buffet though. There was a little noise from drunk people passing by on the street but it was a Friday night so not the hotel’s fault and didn’t last very long. No noise whatsoever indoors. Overall, very pleased with my stay, great value for money.

Receptionist was very nice and helpful. Hotel is clean and comfortable. Don't expect too much as you get what you pay for. Key thing is hotel was what we expected and was a nice stay. Good location as very close to city centre and Abbey Park which is worth a visit
