I was booking with bunk bed and then I upgraded it to private pod which is 18 person in the room. In the room itself has a basin and a mirror, but it’s literally in front of other bed. I feel stress stepping in front of others’ area to use the basic, so mostly of the time I was going to share the bathroom. Its bathroom is separated female and male. Female has only 1 basin. Sometimes you have to wait – didn’t think it can be used with 2 people at the same time. It’s extremely small.
My pod come with a curtain. It has 2 lights – you can adjust the light colour tone as warm or cold. The entrance of the pod has a little fan. It was summer, so it’s super hot. I ended up sleeping my head toward the entrance, and my legs are the most in in the pod... so the fans can directly blow on my face.

I booked the Twin and 4 in 1 beds and both rooms have the same size. The 4-in-1 I stayed in had very little to no luggage space and since it is a shared room, you'll have to mind your movements and space. The shared bathroom was decent for a few nights stay but it wasn't as clean or pleasant as my hostel stays in other countries. If you're squimish about odors and noise, this place is not for you. For some reason, they didn't give out towels for the 4-in-1 room type but they did for the Twin one; hence do bring a TOWEL or rent out for 5 pounds.

The Exmouth Arms in Camden is a decent spot for solo travelers like me, but it’s not perfect. The location is stellar—just a short walk from Euston Station and close to Camden's vibrant energy 🎸 The bunk beds were clean and comfy, though the shared bathrooms could use some TLC (broken shower heads and missing toilet seats). The staff was friendly and helpful, making check-in smooth. Facilities like the gym were non-existent, but the pub vibe downstairs was fun 🍺 Overall, it’s a good budget option if you’re okay with sacrificing luxury for convenience and atmosphere. Would I stay again? Maybe!

Facilities: The eight-person female dormitory is very clean. It is close to the road and not noisy. It is very quiet. The bathroom is also clean and the shower water is very good, but there is water on the floor when taking a shower. After taking a shower, you have to sweep the water, which is not convenient for the next person. The kitchen is great and you can cook. It is so convenient. Everyone consciously cleans the bowls and basins. The business cleans the kitchen regularly. It is very clean, cleaner than your own kitchen!
Hygiene: The room is clean, the bathroom is clean, and the sheets and quilts are clean
Environment: Convenient transportation, close to the supermarket. I will choose this one next time I go to London.
Service: Warm and thoughtful, very satisfied

The demographic of people that stay here is a bit older. The walk through the park from the bus stop to get to the hostel is a bit inconvenient, especially while lugging bags and being tired. The site itself is nice. The bathrooms were nice and clean with sufficient water pressure. The photo is the view from my 6 bed all female room on the top floor. The stairs were not fun, but you do not often get a rooftop patio. My roommates were not my favorite, as I had a very loud snoring woman in my room that argued with me as I was checking out. I complained to management but my stay had ended so there was nothing to do about it. At the least it would’ve been nice to NOT have to pay £1.50 for the earplugs I bought.

It's a good location, walking distance to almost all important view points.
The bed has gaps around, ,be careful your stuff drops and gets lost. On Feb 16 2025 in the morning, a dropped phone was found under the bed 3 in room 6---9 female room. If you look for your lost phone, the lady booked that bed on Feb 15, 2025 should have it or she might already got the solution.
There's no common area, and no food allowed in the room. The shower is not comfortable, but you got what you paid.
A safe haven in the middle of the metropolis: We took a traditional brick building with roots dating back to the 1800s and set a new standard for hostel life in the UK. What was once sailors' accommodation is now a hostel that caters for all the needs of the modern traveller. With great attention to detail, we have created a hostel in London that celebrates the heritage of our historic building. The old oak that once formed part of sturdy ships and churches is now immortalised in our furnishings throughout the house. The beers you drink here will be served on a bar made from 500 year old wood! Our Wombat's City Hostel is located in the London Borough of Tower Hamlets, right next to the famous Tower Bridge and Tower of London, charming markets, authentic pubs and many other places of historical interest. A short walk will take you to trendy Shoreditch with its vibrant street art, the lively nightlife of Hoxton Square and Old Street and finally Brick Lane, which has become one of the most popular spots. All other London attractions are easily accessible by public transport: Aldgate East and Tower Bridge underground and DLR stations are just a stone's throw away. After a long and exciting day in London, our hostel awaits you with a cosy courtyard, a spacious lobby with our own WomCAFÉ (exclusive Wombat's Roast included) and WomBAR. All rooms are equipped with en-suite bathroom and private lockers. Includes: - Bed linen. - WiFi. - WomCAFÉ - The WomBAR for endless parties. - A guest kitchen open to all who want to satisfy their own culinary needs. - 24/7 reception. - Secure luggage storage. - Rental items (umbrellas, hairdryers, adaptors: everything a traveller could need). - Coin-operated laundry facilities (washing and drying), so you can revitalise your clothes! Our famous Tasty Brekkie buffet guarantees you enough energy for your exciting day in London. You can buy breakfast for an economical price at reception. Exploring Europe? Don't miss out on our Wombat's in Budapest, Leipzig, Munich and Vienna (Minimum age 18 years).

Great service and friendly staff were always available.
Breakfast was great for what you paid, and it was all you can eat. Toast, ham, cheese, fruit, yoghurt, coffee, not a full English breakfast but very affordable.
Things like amenities such as washing and towels were available, but had to pay a small price extra for.
The facilities were good and there was a bar/hang out area which was open each night and made it very easy to.mingle with fellow travellers.
Very central to the city and most landmarks were walking distance about an hour or so which is good when visiting a new city. Of course the London tube is available.
Would highly recommend anyone travelling to London solo for a nice experience to meet fellow travellers without breaking the bank.

Overall a nice hostel for solo travelers to seek for a place to have a nice rest during their journey. The room is clean and quiet and lockers are provided for free for us to store our belongings. The common kitchen is opened for 24 hours and the environment inside is pretty nice. Worth for a try if you are traveling to London and searching for a place to rest!

GGuest UserNot enough shower/toilet.
Just one small wall fan for the entire room, I guess it's ok during winter. Unfortunately, I was there at the beginning of summer, so a bit uncomfortable at night.
AAnonymous UserI had issues with the app to begin with and missed a lot of updates and notifications, like the 'how to get in' instruction video. However, on arrival the self check-in code machine was not working properly. I tried several times only for an alarm to go off. Others joined me and also tried the code without luck. We tried to contact the telephone number listed but immediately hung up on several occasions. We eventually dialled the 'after 9pm emergency' number who didn't help first time, but helped the send time. Once in, the property was not quite as I expected, but the pods were comfortable if not a little stuffy on a warm night. But it did the trick. The area is perfectly fine, walking distance of Brick Lane, Spitalfields Market and both Whitechapel and Aldgate East train stations. I was a bit cautious late at night being a single female, but once inside I felt perfectly safe. I would use it again when in the area as it was reasonably priced and kinda funky.
GGuest UserVery close to tube station and bus stop. Its well situated. The bathroom were clean. I was there for just one night (Friday). It was quiet. I didn't use any other facilities. Would stay again.
JJosh CreekThe hostel's entrance is within the Bar called Belushis, this is again shared for the hostel's reception and hostel's breakfast area.
The bar is described as sport themed on their website, but I would say it's more of an alternative music theme instead, as the decor in the toilets, the passage and stage area are fitted with them type of posters.
I arrived on a Sunday at around 7:30pm, there was a blonde Irish musician playing a guitar and singing, there were also playing womens' soccer on the 6 TV screens, but every one I saw was watching the musician. The ambience was very lively and enjoyable, as the musician was there and had good encouragement skills, when small~talking in between each song.
St Christopher's Inn's check in desk was located next to Belushis's (drinks) bar, a small gap made it a detached unit, the bar tender was also the hostel's receptionist.
A photo of your passport is suffice, for the required identification when checking in. (Do not try to use a railcard or an annual bus pass, as these 2 forms of photographic identification are not acceptable.)
It's compulsory to pay a refundable £2 lending fee for the key card, which they give back when you give back their key card.
Once in the hostel I explored, their entertainment room is called the 'Chill Out Room', the room is big with a big TV screen, the TV is connected to the Internet and is also an (internet) browser. There are also lots of movie DVDs and some boxed party games. There are 2 padded sofas and 2 padded armchairs, a kitchen including a kettle, attached to this room is an additional room for lockers.
The dormitory I was allocated to had 12 beds, including 1 shower and 2 wash basins. (Out of the dormitory) beside the corridor there were 2 individual toilet rooms.
The morning after I had breakfast, it's an affordable price of £6, which has a big selection of foods and is all self serviced.
TT EstherJust had an amazing stay at PubLove at The Green Man in London, and I can't recommend it enough! This place perfectly blends the charm of a traditional British pub with the convenience of a hostel. From the moment I arrived, the friendly staff made me feel right at home. The pub downstairs was bustling with locals and travelers alike, creating a lively and welcoming atmosphere. Their selection of craft beers and classic pub grub was spot on—I highly recommend the fish and chips! The rooms were clean and comfortable, with all the essentials for a good night's sleep. What really stood out was the community vibe; I met fellow travelers from all over the world and we exchanged stories over a pint. The location is fantastic too, just a short walk from Edgware Road Station, making it easy to explore all that London has to offer. Whether you're in town for a quick visit or an extended stay, PubLove at The Green Man is a fantastic choice! 🌍🍺🛌
AAnonymous UserDuring my recent stay at St Christopher's Hostel in Greenwich, London, I unfortunately encountered several aspects that left a lot to be desired. One of the major drawbacks was the cleanliness of the premises, which fell below the standards I typically expect from hostel accommodations.
The state of cleanliness in my assigned room was notably subpar. There were visible signs of neglect, with dirty surfaces and a lack of attention to detail in maintaining a hygienic environment. This aspect significantly impacted my overall comfort during the stay and left a lasting impression that detracted from the positive aspects one hopes to find in a lodging establishment.
Equally disappointing was the level of service provided by the hostel staff. Throughout my stay, I encountered instances where the service was notably poor. There seemed to be a lack of attentiveness and responsiveness to guest needs. Whether it was requests for information, assistance, or even basic inquiries, the staff's overall demeanor did not reflect a commitment to guest satisfaction.
The combination of inadequate cleanliness and subpar service made for a less-than-pleasant experience at St Christopher's Hostel. It is my hope that these aspects can be addressed by the management to ensure a more positive and comfortable stay for future guests. While I understand that hostels may vary in terms of amenities, a baseline of cleanliness and attentive service is crucial for creating a welcoming and satisfactory environment for guests.
SSurachaiThe bedroom and bathroom are quite narrow. There is almost no place to put it. Strong water, free WiFi, but in the room the signal is not good, there is no TV, but overall good, near the train station. Near a mini-mart, suitable for Backpackers..When sleeping late at night, you can hear the sound of people opening and closing doors, the sound of people walking, disturbing when sleeping.

AAnonymous UserI have to admit, the lobby really surprised me—it’s stylish and has a nice vibe, which gave me a good first impression. The staff I met were pretty nice and polite throughout my stay, which I appreciated. The location is super convenient, and for the price I paid, it felt like a good deal at first. The bathroom was a bit cramped, but at least there was hot water, which was a relief.
But honestly, the negatives outweighed the positives for me
When I finally got to my room, I was shocked to see that the “mattress” was actually just a blue gymnastics mat—definitely not what I expected. Even though the sheets were clean, it was uncomfortable and I barely slept well the whole time.
It was summer during my stay and the room was absolutely boiling—over 30°C in the daytime. There was no air conditioning, not even a fan, and I felt like I was melting every night. Honestly, I dreaded going to bed. The soundproofing was terrible too; I could hear people shouting at night, which made it even harder to get any rest.
Another thing that annoyed me was that the website said there was a dryer available, but it was out of order—just like the elevator.
To be honest, the stylish lobby and friendly staff simply weren’t enough to make up for all these issues. I really wanted to like this place, but I left feeling tired and disappointed.
