Ella Hostels

The most view in Ella! Rooms are beautifully decorated and extremely clean and comfortable with breathtaking views of Ella gap. Although the property is located right in the middle of town it is very quiet and feels secluded. Yet all restaurants, pubs and supermarkets are within easy reach. Property grows a lot of fruits, veggies and herbs and these are provided with meals. They offer an array of lovely fresh fruit with breakfast. Friendly staff and great service. Udesh, Sanjeeva and Priyantha were very attentive ! Excellent value for money. Highly recommended!

I have to admit, we absolutely loved our stay here. The people were so accommodating and friendly. The location is on a steep hill, most cars won't make it up but walking down and up takes about 5 minutes or a tub tuk can get you there. The view is amazing and worth the walk. It's so close to the main road and close to main attractions (about 20min walk) the room was comfortable, warm, clean. The breakfast was some fruit, with eggs made according to your choice, some toast and they even let us try the coconut pancakes which were so yummy. Everything was amazing. We were so happy there and will definitely stay there again.

A fantastic hotel in Ella situated a short uphill walk from the main town but is well worth it as the hotel is very quiet and has amazing views of Little Adams Peak, Ella Rock and Ella Gap. Rooms are large, clean and the beds are super comfortable with mosquito nets. Breakfast is 11/10! I’d also recommend walking to Nine Arch Bridge and Ella Rock along the train tracks which are only 100m from the hotel. There is also a fantastic viewing/reading platform with panoramic views. The only slight downfall was that our check in was delayed just over an hour but this didn’t affect our stay. I would recommend this to others and would stay here again!

Was given one of their newly renovated room with balcony which offers amazing view of the Ella Rock and the Little Adam’s peak. A 5 minutes walk you can reach the town centre for dinner Was told to leave the sink tap on for at least 5 minutes, then you should have hot water for your shower I had the tap running for 10 minutes, not only the water was not hot, it was muddy yellowish (I know it was pouring that day but it was disgusting) couldn’t bother asking for help as it was already late at night when I figure this out. Left the next morning and went straight to my next lodge. Breakfast was just so-so the only positive thing was the view

I recently stayed three nights at Ella Green cottages with my soon (13) and we had a lovely experience. The cozy cottages are nestled in the heart of nature, surrounded by lush greenery, which gave it a serene and peaceful jungle atmosphere with birds and small monkeys playing around. The cottages themselves were cozy and comfortable, with the necessary amenities to make the stay comfortable. We enjoyed the delicious home-cooked breakfast each morning. Pancakes, toast, fresh fruits, omelets and various traditional Sri Lankan foods. The host was very friendly and welcoming and went out of their way to make os feel comfortable and ensure that our stay was enjoyable. Overall, I highly recommend Ella Green cottages to anyone looking for a peaceful retreat amidst nature. Exceptional service from the owner who couldn’t do enough for us. We enjoyed delicious dinner and food at breakfast too. He arranged a tuc tuc for us to go sightseeing and a trip to the local tea farm. Our room was comfortable and overlooked the beautiful countryside. I would recommend.

We were as a family for two nights in this nice accommodation. The host is warm and nice and meets every wish. The rooms are super clean, the bathroom is a little rustic but you see that you have made a lot of effort. Very good breakfast, but you should pre-order it in the evening.

I travel solo and I prefer quiet and peaceful places where I can't hear the noise of the city or the music from the night clubs. So Nature Nest was just perfect for me. I liked everything. The room was light and spacious, a comfortable bad, a big bathroom with hot shower and a nice balcony made my stay cozy and pleasant. And it was so nice to hear the chirping of birds outside in the morning. It took me about 10 minutes to walk down to Ella and maybe a little more to walk up. And every time the walk in the nature was nice and pleasant. Sampat and Nadeeka were really helpful, they gave me many useful tips and good advice about Ella and Sri Lanka and I just had a great time talking with them. The food they cooked was really delicious and also they were so kind to give me a cooking lesson and even a ride when I needed it. I highly recommend the Nature Nest to anyone who values comfort and calmness. And I will be glad to come back if I have such a chance.
