One Two Together Railcard costs just £30 and it can be used by 2 travelers.

Who Can Apply for the Two Together Railcard?

Both applicants will need to be at least 16 years old. The 1/3 discount applies to most adult rail tickets except for the morning peak-time train journeys. Applicants can apply for the Two Together Railcard online or at a staffed station ticket office.

Online Purchase

Users are advised to apply for the Two Together Railcard online as it is the most convenient method. Please prepare the following documents during application: 2 separate digital photos (one for each person named on the Railcard) and a debit or credit card for payment. Users can opt for a Digital Railcard or a Physical Railcard.

Users who have opted for a Digital Railcard will need to download the Railcard app. Then, users will be able to download the Two Together Railcard to the app using the download code sent by email and the Railcard will be available for use right away. As for users who have opted for a Physical Railcard, please allow up to 5 working days for the Railcard to arrive. The Railcard will be delivered to users free of charge. Users can also choose to pay for the Special Delivery option. The Special Delivery service costs £6.50 and it guarantees that the Two Together Railcard is delivered within 2 days (Monday to Thursday) or 3 days (Friday to Saturday) provided that users have placed their orders before 16:00. Staffed Station Ticket Office

Travelers can purchase the Two Together Railcard on the day of their travel at any National Rail staffed station ticket office or at any National Rail-licensed Travel Agent. Rail-appointed travel agents are usually registered with tourism offices or agencies.

These agents provide a comprehensive service for railway travel, and they can make reservations and issue tickets too. Please look out for the National Rail accredited logo that is marked with a “tick”. Please ensure that the office is open during your intended visiting hours.

The station ticket offices usually have application forms available. However, users can save time by filling in the form beforehand. The application forms are available online at railcard.co.uk, and users can print and fill in the application forms at home. When applying for the Two Together Railcard at a ticket office, applicants will need to provide the following documents: a completed application form and 2 separate passport-sized photos of the 2 named persons on the Railcard.

Please note that Railcards are usually unavailable for purchase at stations operated by London Underground but which also service some National Rail routes. How to Use Two Together Railcard?

Rail Ticket Discounts with Two Together Railcard

When users purchase train tickets via Trip.com, users can click on "Add Railcard" to add the Two Together Railcard. The discounts will be applied to the train ticket prices.

With the Two Together Railcard, users can get 1/3 discounts for Standard and First Class Anytime, Off-Peak and Advance fares when traveling together from 09:30 onwards from Monday to Friday, or anytime at weekends and public holidays. If the train is scheduled to depart at 09:30, the Two Together Railcard discounted ticket will be valid. Two Together Railcard discounted tickets cannot be used between 04:30 and 09:29 from Monday to Friday (excluding public holidays). Other Information on Two Together Railcard

Please note that the Two Together Railcard cannot be used by a single cardholder when the cardholder is traveling alone. The Two Together Railcard is for use when both named cardholders are traveling together. The two named cardholders must travel together for the entire journey for their discounted tickets to be valid.

Although users are unable to use the Two Together Railcard for discounts on Oyster Pay As You Go or tickets bought from London Underground retailers, they can get discounted rail tickets for a journey that involves a cross-London journey using the Underground to travel between two London mainline train stations. Anytime Day Travelcards are also available when bought as part of your National Rail ticket to London from outside London Zones 1-9. Please note that this is subject to a minimum fare of £19.60.

How to Renew Two Together Railcard?

Please note that Two Together Railcards do not renew automatically. Railcard users will need to ensure that the Two Together Railcards are renewed before their expiry dates as expired Railcards are not valid for use. Users may be charged a penalty fare if they travel on an expired Railcard. The Railcards can be renewed when they are within 30 days of the expiry date. Users may also renew their Railcard in their online accounts once they have expired. The Two Together Railcard can be renewed for a year (£30).

When the Two Together Railcard is renewed, the new card will start from the day after the current Railcard has expired. If users renew their digital Railcards before their expiry dates, please note that the current digital Railcards will appear in the online account as “Replaced”. Then, the renewed digital Railcard will be valid for use immediately. Any overlapping validity will be added on to the renewed digital Railcard. Only Railcards that are bought online can be renewed online. For users who have bought their Railcards from a station, they will need to renew their Railcards at a staffed station ticket office or purchase a new Railcard. Alternatively, users can wait until their current card has expired before applying for a new card online.
