The rooms are clean, spacious and quiet in lovely grounds. We had 4 rooms with our party which were booked at a reasonable price and 2 were upgraded on arrival which was a bonus. The staff were friendly and welcoming especially the lady on reception. Would happily stay here again

|2.77km from city centreThe hotel is very clean. In the morning, I went to the restaurant through the beautiful English garden. It felt very good. In addition to regular coffee and drinks, the breakfast was quite good. The front desk is so-so. It is about 5-6 stops by rail from the University of Sheffield. It feels a little bit remote. There is a large supermarket/parking lot nearby. From the station, pass the supermarket back to the hotel. There were some fast food a few hundred meters behind the hotel, but we did not go.

The building itself is rather nice. The rooms are clean, the beds are comfortable, and the hotel itself feels safe and pleasant. However, the rooms are small, in particular, the showers are small... I have friends who would genuinely be unable to squeeze through the small door to enter the shower cubicle.

The hotel, being directly attached to the Winter Garden, has a great central location and is less than ten minutes by foot to the train station (which is all wheelchair and suitcase accessible).
All the breakfast staff were also attentive and helpful even early in the morning.

Location was OK if the canal side bars were accessible through the rear of the lobby but it was locked so had to turn a 2min walk into a 10min walk but not the end of the world. There were hairs in the bath and some rubbish in the corner of the room but other than that, all was fine. Loved they had an iron and ironing board but the cover was a little grotty. Overall, I'd stay again.

There are several Chinese restaurants in the surrounding walk for 10 minutes. |0.6km from city centreI am Benny Mok(the register name is WAI-FU MOK), spent three days there at ROOM 211 from 31/7/2022 to 2/8/2022 in summer & I found that all the facilities in the hotel were superb & I was highly satisfied. The only shortcoming was there was a long weird sound when flushing at the bathroom. There might be some problems in the toilet bowl hose.
Otherwise than that, I highly recommend this hotel cuz all the staff members at the hotel ARE SUPER FRIENDLY, welcoming, cheerful, caring including the housekeeping ladies !
Last but not least, the receptionist ~KARRA RIPPON. karra was the most patient, helpful, amicable , devoted, loving, thoughtful & caring staff member over there & there is no doubt about that! Would you mind sharing this inspiring message with this excellent receptionist and tell her that the inspiring message was from a HONG KONG IMMIGRANT FAMILY ? Many thanks & I owe you one!

|6.36km from city centreWe were issued keys that failed to open the door forcing us to make our way back to the front office. Our room, by the way was last on a long corridor on the upper floor of an extended wing if you can picture that. We booked (and paid for) a room for three but upon entering, the extra bed was not made up. Tried to call every number on the house phone but none was answered which meant another long walk to the front office, again.
When we found the drain in the shower clogged I was hesitant to complaint to avoid further disappointment but I did anyhow and true enough - nothing was done.
I must admit the hotel had one of the widest selection of tea and coffee (and chocolate drink mix) I've seen in a hotel room. I appreciated the coffee but unfortunately, restocking was only done once throughout our 4 night stay. I wonder if this was to be expected.
Double Tree is a respectable brand (at least in my part of the world) but I don't understand what could have gone so wrong with this one.

There was an excellent shower that was quite strong. There was a small wall mounted television also but the volume was fixed a little bit low and I could only just hear it. The only complaint I had was the lack of hot drinks. There was no kettle or tea and coffee or even a glass for water. Other than that my stay was very good.

It was also the first time in my many travels I found a heated towel rail in the shower room/toilet that actually worked, meaning for the days we stayed there our towels stayed dry.
Lots of parking spaces at the front and back of the building at £9 per day. I also quite liked the traditional building style, including stairs inside - definitely different from many cheap modern hotel buildings relying on cheap lifts.
Finally, the receptionists at the reception were all excellent - professional and friendly and very helpful in meeting our needs, such as providing extra tea bags and milk and information on walking around the area.
Happy to recommend and stay there again.

There was an issue up with the accommodation, upon reporting this our accommodation was upgraded immediately. There stay was good. The food was excellent. No service for the room only the first day. The maid just changed the towels and did nothing to the room including the toilet. I have to request for daily clean up at the front desk. On the third day, found a large plastic bag with rubbish in my room probably the maid forgot to take out. The bag included other rubbish not from my room.

Fully equipped: kettle, microwave oven, induction cooker can burn 4 pots at the same time, dishwasher, oven, small refrigerator have freezing and refrigeration. A set of knives and small cutting boards, mugs, glass, red wine glasses, dishes, three large, medium and small soup pots, one of the wok is estimated to be burnt and cannot be used, washing baskets, glassware dishes, knife and fork spoons are very complete without chopsticks, different types of pot shovel spoons are complete, Red wine bottle opener dumplings are available, very very intimate. Self-check-in is also very convenient to follow the mail operation steps, check out and put the key in the box next to the door downstairs. The bathroom does not provide slippers, shower gel, disposable shampoo, towels, bath towels, no front desk staff, communication is not very convenient when encountering problems, you can contact the apartment customer service by email or phone, or contact the supplier to transfer to the apartment with Trip.com . Some paint downstairs caused the bathroom (our room type has no window) to smell when checking in, and it was solved by contacting the apartment through Trip.com .
