The Noisiest Stay I've had ever!, we were warned by staff to be fair, our room was no6 on the side of the hotel, and the racket outside was going right up till 5am, they do give you ear plugs but they are useless, anyway onto the hotel, our key card didn't work properly nor did other peoples but the lady and gent on the desk make out it's your fault and there isn't a problem and were quite curt and sharp with you, very unprofessional as they are clearly faulty! Decided to have a drink before going to bed in the bar, the music was deafening, no chance to have a chat! And it was awful too, all those compilation songs that everyone hated back in the 80's, really outdated, bar prices were very reasonable, compared to the rest of Lpool town centre where they are a complete rip off, our room was quite small, clean enough but carpets are tired and in need of replacement, bathroom ok bed comfortable enough, breakfast the next morning was good, bacon was lovely, mention for the lady who served us she was very nice and pleasant, considering the £110 cost I was disappointed and would look elsewhere in the future

First time staying in this type of accommodation and were very pleased. Room great, amazing location with so much nearby and we were able to walk everywhere we wanted to go from here (train station, University, tours, shopping, restaurants) while feeling completely safe. Reception staff were so friendly and made us feel very comfortable. Suite had everything we wanted and was so quiet even though it overlooked the street. Hope to stay here again soon as we loved it and would highly recommend to others. PS: Nicky - ”Buzzer man” from Canada says Hi.

Whether you're here for business or pleasure, you'll find lots of places to visit on your doorstep, and the transport links are really good too. Had a fantastic stay, your staff are a absolutely FANTASTIC they are all so efficient, had a issue with my room but as it wasn't found till late in the evening but I was in a clean fresh room by 11 the next morning. As for your staff the tall blonde lady can't rambert her name super polite and on the ball, and as for Collette she made me feel so welcome and she treated me like I was a returning customer and it was my first time staying at the hotel, she is a asset to you and the hotel, also the bar team I met were amazing too and your house keeper I spoke too was so appreciated of me *****ping the beds for her when I changed over rooms, all your staff are AMAZING. Thank you to all of you guys and yes I will be returning ASAP.

Very good, the first time I stayed in an apartment-style hotel, I didn’t expect the experience to be so good. The room size is right, clean and tidy, the front desk is warm, and there is free coffee breakfast to eat, and the most important 50 pounds of deposit is refunded to you on the spot the next day. Unlike many hotels in the UK, it is disgusting or not to retreat, or wait for a month to retreat. There is also a super invincible location. Downstairs is the major shopping malls. It is convenient to go anywhere. The train station is also convenient to come over. I will go again.

As a 25th Anniversary gift we were given a voucher for a two night stay at a hotel of our choice from hundreds around the UK. Having not visited Liverpool before we decided this was the place we’d visit and plumped for Epic Aparthotel on Seel Street. After we booked I came on Trip Advisor and read some of the reviews which were mixed but kept an open mind about what to expect. I can honestly say we weren’t disappointed at all. We checked in online a few weeks beforehand and on the day of arrival we received a message with the door code and the room key lockbox, no queuing just straight to our room. The suite itself was pleasant, clean and spacious. One room had a really comfy sofa (much needed after a fulls day exploring!), a full kitchen with oven, microwave, fridge freezer and dishwasher, table and four chairs and also a tv. The bedroom had a large double bed, wardrobe along with hairdryer, iron and ironing board. The bathroom was spacious with a huge walk in shower and towels provided. The only negative thing I could find was that the rooms were a bit gloomy, the lighting isn’t great due to the fact the ceilings are so high, a lamp in the living area might help. There are signs of wear and tear but as it’s an old building you expect this but on a whole the place was clean and tidy including the corridors and lobby area. The building is in a great area and literally everything we wanted was right on the doorstep. Seel street is full of bars and clubs and just behind the building is Concert Square which is full of bars, clubs and places to eat. Just beyond this is Bold Street which is packed full of shops, bistros and quirky eateries. The Albert Dock is about a five minute walk away, as is the shopping area and the Cavern Quarter is about a ten minute walk. Some of the reviews had said it was noisy but we never heard a thing, our apartment (number 6) was at the front of the building. We had no issues with the apartment or the wi-fi, the password was on the welcome card that the key card was in (which I realised after I’d WhatsApp’ed the Epic group!) At the end of our stay we checked out online and simply left the keys in key lock box and went. Don’t expect toiletries or complimentary drinks tray as you get with other hotels but do expect to find a great little apartment in the heart of a bustling, vibrant city packed with loads to see and do!

We stayed for a night and opted for the breakfast. The check-in and stay were hassle free and we enjoyed the room. Bed was comfy, toilet and bathroom just nice. The same cannot be said for the breakfast, which was late in setting up (after 7am). It was only ready around 720am which was late for us as we had a train to catch.

Obviously we read the good & bad reviews. In my opinion this is a modern hotel with good sized rooms, friendly helpful staff and a nice (small) pool with a sauna & gym. 30% discount on the secure parking at the Q parking opposite was good too. Location in the city centre just on the edge of the L1 shopping eating and drinking area is good too. We were on the 6th floor which was lovely and quiet. There are a few oddities like the separate loo & shower/wash hand basin room facility (didn’t bother us), slightly disobedient lifts and a few minor broken items/scratches etc. Nothing worth moaning about for us. We caught a lucky deal at £65 for the night so value was really good.

we came back from an event approx midnight. asked for 2 glasses of red wine at the bar. staff member offered us a number of bottles . we picked one, she opened it. then the duty manager turned up and said that this wine wasn’t available by the glass only by the bottle. ( which was £55) we explained that we were offered this option by the bar staff but he still said no. bar staff then had to put the cork back in the bottle. we asked how they could do that when it could only bought by the bottle and no customer would buy a bottle of wine that had already been opened. no change. out of courtesy to the bar staff we agreed to pick another red wine. turns out they only had one glass left of that one and no spares . therefore we ended up with our 3rd choice option. this all took 45mns from order to serve. some of the worst hotel service we have ever had.

Came here with my partner for my 30th, we also got engaged here the year before. A lovely night away if you want a little bit of luxury. The spa bath is lovely, beds comfy and the breakfast is always high quality. We didn’t have an evening meal or visit the bar this time round but have done in the past and it’s very high quality and fancy. We were checked out by Lisa and Bill and they were lovely to talk to, as are all the staff I have encountered at the hotel.

We picked this hotel primarily for its location as it's in the city centre and very close to my daughters university accommodation. Our room was clean and tidy and had everything except a fridge and any staff we encountered were friendly and helpful. Beds were comfortable and rooms were quiet so we had a few good nights sleep. We didn't eat at the hotel so can't comment on the food but the location is in the heart of the city and there are lots of bars and restaurants nearby. I also liked that there was a little desk beside the reception with extra milk, teabags etc so you could grab some extra if you needed them throughout the day.

The Castle Collection - 25 Castle Street

My husband and I stayed at 42 Castle Street in September 2022 and liked it so much that we booked with Castle Collection again. This time (May 2023 ) we stayed in 25 Castle Street (flat 12) and it was so grotty that we had to go out and buy cleaning products from Tesco’s (they only supply dishwashing liquid). It was actually an adventure of discovery. There was dried up vomit on the lounge suite, (nice and crunchy) the bed head and wall to the left of it had some liquid drip stuff on it ( came off with disinfectant wipes), the walls were filthy, (more liquid drips, so I can only assume that a lot of drinking/ puking must have taken place. The skirting boards had stains and black grime, ( sadly, they defeated me and my myriad of cleaning products) the cushions had liquid/vomit stains and the carpet was so gross I didn’t want to imagine what had gone on in the past. As for the view… well, the windows had bird crap all over them from the derelict building next door, which has more than its share of pigeons and their nests. If you leave any window open to let fresh air in, (it’s stuffy) the pigeons try to get in. They do tend to be somewhat noisy, but ear plugs fixed that. You get the odd seagull crapping, too, but I guess they decided that there’s no need to try and clean the windows, as there’s nothing to see anyway. I realise that that the building and birds are not Castle Collection’s fault, but they’re advertising ‘luxury apartments‘ and to be honest, this apartment made me feel uncomfortable and because it was so grotty, I avoided it as much as possible, and I was there for eight nights! Anyway, I managed to clean the vomit off the lounge and the drips off the bed head and wall, but the living room wall and skirting boards defeated me as they were too ingrained. Okay, it was straight after Eurovision, but really? I am a frequent visitor to Liverpool, as am originally from Liverpool and live in Australia, and I thought the Castle Collection was a great place - umm, no. So disheartening. Anyway, the positives - great location and communication regarding access etc was really efficient and friendly. Really easy access. Number 42 Castle St has a lift, but number 25 doesn’t. Car park nearby with discount rates.

I booked this hotel for a little break for me & my husband (we are both middle aged). I picked it for location & price. They were both spot on, but I didn't check that it was right in the heart of club land, so we didn't get any sleep from the noise from bars, clubs & party goers. So great for the money, if you want to be out there partying, but not so good when you're older. Upon check out, I mentioned the noise to the receptionist, who told me that I should have requested a quieter room, which I would have done, had I have know that they had them! So upon reflection a) the hotel needs to point out that there are quiet rooms available & b) I'll definately be doing a thorough research on any future city break hotels.

Not bad, mainly very close to the stadium, just a few minutes walk, the location is absolutely good, there is a convenience store in the gas station diagonally opposite, if you need to cook, you can buy simple dishes, there are not many choices for eating out, the neighborhood is relatively deserted, because the first time I booked a homestay, I didn’t have experience. I don't know if it is contactless check-in, you must remember to see the email with the room password. If you have any questions, you can also call or send an email.

I went to Liverpool specifically to watch a Liverpool game. If there is a chance next time, I will still choose this hotel. The attitude is very good and very enthusiastic! And it's very close to Liverpool Lime Station, take a train from London to Liverpool, you can see the hotel as soon as you get out of the train station, and it's only a 2-minute walk to arrive! And it's right in the city center, basically everything you need can be met on foot. If you want to go to Anfield, you can get there by taking No. 17 at the bus stop coming out of the hotel. If you travel to Liverpool, it is recommended that you live here.

We stayed for a week in Feb visiting the Shakespeare North Theatre - we had a large comfortable room , nothing was too much trouble extra chair in the room new towels more tea etc . We came in late every night and the bar staff were so friendly and welcoming - making sure that we were able to have last orders and giving us extra time to finish without hurrying us out- for which we were very grateful ! Excellent breakfast and extra fast service at dinner as we needed to get back to the theatre on time. Particular mention for Frankie and Ellie for their friendliness , kindness and excellent Scouse humour!

The location of this hotel is perfect. A few minutes walk up James Street towards all the shopping, cinema, restaurants in Liverpool One as well as the rest of the city and if you go the opposite way you are at Albert Dock. There is a Weatherspoons directly across the road serving food and drinks too The whole building is clean and modern. Unfortunately, we found the beds to be uncomfortable. So hard to get a good night's sleep. Some floors seem to be used for emergency housing, a lot of people just hanging around and bringing old bikes up the lifts. Whole building heating is set really high. Drinks from the fridge are expensive €5 for a water and pepsi. No parking (you have to park at Liverpool One) so if it's raining you will be soaked by the time you walk back to the hotel. It's not cheap either £16 pound from 10pm -10am (off peak) and that included a €30 off voucher from the hotel. I would still use this hotel but probably more as a solo traveller.

Rooms smell damp and musty like a lift, no fresh air just stale. Noticed that the air conditioning has no return air grill only a supply grill where a minimal amount of air blows out from which smells stale and musty like a loft does. Air con noisy because it's not able to pull any air from the room. Dust on top of ledges. To top things off booked a room with breakfast but was told my booking didn't have breakfast and then I was over charged. Quite a few complaining about lights not working. If you are heading to Anfield Stadium for a match, this hotel should be one of your best choices. At the very beginning, I thought it was a bit far away from the city centre, however, in fact there are quite a number of bus service to the city centre with just around 15 mins. Ok, by Google map, 30 mins on foot to Anfield. A bit far away? Trust me, you will end up spending an hour to queue for a bus. 30 mins walking back to the hotel definitely is the best choice. Just next to a supermarket where you can buy bottle water, next to Mcdonald as well. Walking back to the hotel and enjoy a British Pub food is also a nice choice. Staffs are friendly, and provide useful tips. Helped me to print out my broading pass. To conclude, my 3 nights stay was worthy!

Stayed for 1 night with a friend. Everyone we spoke to were lovely and the room was nice enough (very modern bathroom but quite dated/tired bedroom). Great location. From 9:30am there was a constant loud noise coming from the elevators or drains. Meant we couldn’t sleep past then. After research we chose this hotel for the spa, thinking we could have a relaxing 2nd day before heading home. We were told we’d have to book a slot into the spa as they were so busy and the earliest slot was 12:00, with checkout being at 11:00. Given the hotel breakfast buffet we booked in for 10:30. Breakfast was rubbish. We paid £20 each for dry bread, hash browns, a few leftover bacon rashers and crusty baked beans. There seemed to be an egg station but no one there between 10:30-11:00. I appreciate we came at the end of breakfast, but we still paid the same £20 so expected a lot more. Only as we were walking into the spa were we told it was an additional £25. Changing rooms were TINY, space probably for 3-5women but there was over 10 of us when we went in/out. Very awkward and not relaxing. Given we were made to book, this overcrowding should have been considered. None of the locks on the lockers worked. 1/3 toilets was blocked. Facilities were decent enough and fairly clean, wouldn’t have minded if it was included in our £90 room. I’m due back in Liverpool soon but will be trying somewhere else.

I stayed here June 2021 with my partner and some of his family to celebrate his parents 50th wedding anniversary. There was 15 of us and initially we were also hoping to have a meal in the restaurant all together but with the government deciding extend the restrictions it meant 6 to a table with no more than two households together. Disappointingly the hotel decided on keeping the restaurant closed using covid and the restrictions as an excuse but said we could use the bar area to get something to eat but this meant we couldn’t book tables. It didn’t really make sense as the bar area has less space so it would have made more sense to use the restaurant with its larger area and more tables also breakfast was held in there the following day so go figure! We spent sometime sitting out side together having a drink before heading into the bar which was quite busy but luckily we were able to to get 3 tables pretty close together and had a nice meal. I enjoyed the steak! I can’t say restrictions were fully adhered to, although we generally stayed separate in groups of no more than 6 and 2 households others weren’t as I think there was a wedding on which spilled over into the bar area. After our meal and couple of drinks we headed back outside to be together. Staff were friendly and rooms were clean and comfortable as our previous stays and we had a good nights sleep. Breakfast the next day was ok although initially a little disorganised and the manager got a bit shouty because the toaster that was meant to be for gluten free bread only had been used for gluten bread but the sign wasn’t fully on display so it was an easy mistake. Everything had to be served to us because of the restrictions but this was done by queuing up rather than a table service so social distancing kind of went out the window. The food was ok but it had been nicer on previous visits but I just with the with the pandemic there was just a struggle with everything. Despite the covid situation at the time it was nice to celebrate together best we could given the circumstances and we all enjoyed our stay!

Stayed in the 3 bedroom duplex apartment.Friendly welcome when checking in. Great location. 10 minute walk to Albert dock and Liverpool One. Spacious accommodation with everything you need. Views were great. A little tired here and there with minor cosmetic damage, cracked tiles, scratched furniture etc. This didn't really make any difference to our stay. For what we paid we thought it was good value. Smelly stairwell, think bins were stored nearby. This was a bit unpleasant but once in apartment it was fresh smelling. The place was very clean. We enjoyed our stay but I wouldn't stay again with my family of 2 adults and 2 tall teens because of the beds. Bedrooms are spacious with plenty of room but beds are only double size (4ft 6). Really not suitable for 2 adults to have a comfortable sleep. I can't understand why the company don't put larger beds in the 2 biggest bedrooms. Good sleep is important for a good stay. Blackout blinds and/ or curtains would improve sleep quality too. Overall a good place but a few improvements needed

This has to be the friendliest and most helpful hotel I have ever stayed at ! They honestly cant do enough for you. The hotel has Liverpool FC theme in the bar and outside area. My husband and I contacted them to book a surprise to take our son to visit the Liverpool Stadium Tour, so the theme of the hotel was amazing for him, we watched the away Liverpool match with a few other supporters the night prior to the visit. The bar staff were so helpful and friendly. They didn't serve food, but it was no issue to have food delivered and ate in the bar during the game. From the initial contact they were fully booked, but Gill contacted me as soon as they received a cancellation and helped us every step of the way with the booking, they even offered to book the tour. The room was spacious and immaculate, the beds very comfortable - what else could you ask for? The following morning we went to the tour and we were allowed to leave the car at the hotel, so that saved us the hassle of moving and parking elsewhere. Its literally just down the road from the stadium - you can walk out the drive and you can see it! Perfect for anyone visiting or going to the game. Gill was amazing - she knew the reason for our visit and seemed to go out of her way to make it a special event - it really has help make it a memory my son wont forget - so thank you!

I attended the Kabannas bar and restaurant in Liverpool for some drinks with friends as were celebrating a birthday. Upon arrival to the venue, my partner informed the bar staff of the drink he wanted while we were still deciding, the lady behind the bar asked for payment and he advised her that we were still deciding what to drink. The lady then stated ”well I am not a mind reader”. The lady also made an error on some of the drinks we ordered so we asked if they could be changed, she advised that this is what we had told her when it wasn't! I asked to be served my another member of staff due to her behaviour and attitude towards us and we were then told by her that she is the manager and needs to rectify the drinks. We will not be attending this venue again. Drinks were great, customer service was extremely poor !

Parking in the NCP is £17 for 24 hours and unfortunately there was no discount offered, so my only feedback would be to get a better rate in for guests, and maybe provide some guidance (as the car park is a bit of maze) and then they would have all angles covered.

The location is very good and I think it is the best place to sightsee Liverpool. On the first day of arrival, there was a problem with the button on the toilet in the room, but the staff immediately responded and prepared another room. Also, when I asked if there was a coin laundry nearby, he politely told me the location. In addition to that, there were several scenes where I felt the hospitality of the hotel, and it was a hotel that I wanted to use when staying in Liverpool.

Place was exactly as advertised. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Definitely worth staying if your trip is short. As for downsides, hostel has limited number of bathrooms and showers - this can cause issues if you have to leave quickly. The ventilation in rooms is basically non-existent, and rooms house up to 10 people, so I’ll leave the air quality to your imagination. Sound isolation is not great, so if somebody has a good time in the kitchen you’ll going to hear that. Bring earplugs if you are light sleeper. Cleanliness is subjective, I’m not that picky, but having crumbs in my bed was disconcerting. Some sinks have filters with hair in them. Haven’t seen anything that would be actually harmful like mold or hygiene products, so that is good. Location is good. Liverpool is not that big and you’ll get to city centre in under an hour even with most leisurely pace. Do visit the cathedral on your way there. I haven’t seen any shops in immediate vicinity though, but I didn’t need them, so maybe you find some if you look. Bus stop for airport is fairly close, so that is a plus as well. Overall, this is a hostel. You can sleep there, store your stuff and maybe have a chat with interesting people. Price is fair for experience.

Good location, easy to find and free parking. Lovely staff. Nice and clean hotel and room. The size on the room was good, but the bathroom was terrible. The bathroom was like a big plastic box which was put in the room. When I used the shower, the whole room became wet. You could nok take showerhead down, it was mounted in the ceiling. The toilet ring did not stay up itself. There was no pegs for towels. The room does not have a fridge or minibar. I would not recommend to stay here longer than one night.

We had a quick and professional checkin but we decided to pay a little extra to have a room with a view of the old docks. The room and especially the bed were very comfortable. One reason why we chose this hotel was because of the free and secure parking. It’s also close to Albert Dock. Food and drink were available at the hotel but we chose to eat at a restaurant across the road. All in all a very pleasant stay and I’d definitely recommend this hotel

We booked a two night stay in a Liverpool city centre hotel but we’re transferred to this sister hotel because of problems with the original hotel. The staff at Sefton Park could not have been more helpful and welcoming. We had a complimentary drink on arrival, they added breakfast and paid for a couple of taxi trips into town for the inconvenience. The hotel is in a lovely setting in Sefton Park and is clean and nicely decorated. We have no hesitation in recommending a stay here.
