To start with the positives -lovely area -great evening food -great evening staff We checked in, lovely evening staff, we got to our room, bit dated and run down for the price. Left straight away to get something to eat, came back about two hours later and found the water was cold, decided to go for dinner and try it later. Dinner was lovely, would recommend paying the extra on booking for the breakfast and dinner option as menu was pricey, as this option gives you £25pp towards dinner. Came back from dinner, water still cold, wifi not working, phoned reception and had someone come “check” the water. They accepted the water was cold, and moved us to another room, to find this was a downgrade for what we paid and the room was out of service, freezing cold, dirty and a chair that wouldn’t looking out of place in a horror movie. After calling again, they moved us back to our original room, and it took for us to say we weren’t happy to be moved to a lodge. Which was lovely, however again the hot water wasn’t working and house was cold. By this point it was 10:30pm and we had barely sat down and enjoyed the evening. Thankfully in the morning the water was warm, arrived at reception to sort out all issues we had to be resolved, informed receptionist that the water was cold at night to be met with a scowl and a head shake. In no way were we out to make this an inconvenience, but felt we only really slept and used no other facilities, or lack thereof. We went to breakfast to be met with a travellodge-esque breakfast which was such a let down from the evening before. The evening staff were lovely, and cannot thank them enough for trying their best, but for the price and the hotels available elsewhere in loch tay, it is not worth the money or the time.

We were staying in aberfeldy so only booked for the restaurant. The building is very historic and well maintained. The restaurant was beautiful and we could not fault the food, everything was delicious and beautifully presented. 100% reccomend a visit

Disappointed to find hotel closed when we were looking for lunch after visit to Crannog Centre. Passed so many people also looking for a nice lunch. Would have thought a few days before Easter would have been serving lunches. Had suggested here to family, but ended up with nice lunch in Aberfeldy.

Just back from an overnight and it was absolutely fantastic. Room was beautiful and very spacious. We had dinner and so many choices. Breakfast was excellent and all the staff very pleasant and helpful. Hotel was located in such a peaceful area. Feel totally relaxed and would highly recommend and will definitely go back.

We stayed there only for one night, hotel is in a lovely spot, beds are comfortable and rooms spacious. We stayed with our dog and it wasn't an issue at all: hotel is dog friendly, in the room there was dog welcome pack waiting for us along with bowls. Having an evening meal wasn't an issue either as there is a designated area where we for visitors with dogs. And staff! both reception and F&B are absolutely amazing!

I booked here for my partner's birthday last week , we are staying down the road at The Kenmore Club , this place looked nice for special meal & the staff were very friendly , sadly the food not that good , my partner's duck he said was lovely but my lamb was terrible 2 tiny & I mean TINY slices about the size of a 50p & one was all fat, we all like our veg different & the ones served were hard & crunchy too hard I doubt they saw water , I never complained simply because I didn't want to spoil his birthday he was happy with his duck & accepted the veg but we did agree we wouldn't go back £23 just for 2 slices of lamb & what they called dauphinoise potatoes that resembled a patty

Good points -restaurant is lovely, food was good -cosy bar with a coal fire -room was decent (we had one of the upgraded rooms), it was nothing fancy but comfortable and spacious -setting is beautiful Bad points -The hotel is a bit run down and scruffy in places That being said, it’s a 3* and was a good price

I have visited this hotel many times over many many years and seen it at its best and worst. This visit we expected the "shabby chic" of old gone as the place is recently advertised as renovated. I worried the character would be gone and it's has not but.... dogs everywhere and when we got to our superior room the bedding was covered in dog hairs and paw marks .... so the three o'clock check in was delayed but well managed by Jade and the cleaning staff ( all be it late !!! ) Money has been spent but this was not a "superior room" and the quirky still exists .... taps on upside down in the sink !!!! Telly in the cupboard and a plywood dressing table ! The evening meal food is excellent and staff very helpful. Breakfast was poor the sausage was cheap the black pudding dried out, you could build a foundation with the scrambled egg and no haggis in a Scottish inn!!! The continental breakfast was very limited ,I had to request a fruit salad I got apple ,orange and grape no frills or extras in this breakfast. The room ( deep cleaned for covid? ) has a huge cobweb above the bed head ! The room was not made up during our stay ... no change of towels. Saying all this I will be back it's a place where you stay in a historic and quirky inn within an idyllic setting and the fires, the people, atmosphere and conversation ( I always meet someone here ) are great.
