The Fortingall is a lovely hotel in the picturesque village of Fortingall. The staff were so helpful and welcoming. Our room had everything we look for with really comfortable bed and an excellent shower, as well as lovely toiletries and robes. The breakfasts and dinners were delicious. The live musicians in the hotel pub on Sunday night were amazing and a real treat. Its a special hotel in a quiet corner of Scotland. Glen Lyon is not to be missed.

We had stayed here before, many years ago, when we were looking for an overnight stop off between north of Scotland & Edinburgh. We were keen to return after the change of ownership & refurb. It was a rocky start when we checked into our room but we were quickly moved, without any hassle, to another room which was much quieter. Although this room faced the road it had the most gorgeous pastoral views from the main window and in any event there was very little traffic. We liked the decor throughout the hotel. Classic and tasteful. No garish patterns so popular in some recent hotel refurbs. Husband visited their pub for a post drive beer whilst I enjoyed a lovely bath, coffee & macaroon. We had dinner & breakfast in the hotel & really enjoyed the food. Good quality, decent choice & well cooked & presented. The bed/pillows/bedding were all very comfortable and we slept extremely well. The only minor things I didn't like was the Pluto TV which doesn't show regular TV. Also, at 7am a guest in a room above us put on their radio and the noise was rather intrusive in our room, albeit we were actually awake at that time. This is a lovely hotel and we will definitely choose to stay here again.

We were so excited to come to the hotel again for dinner now it’s reopened and it did not disappoint. The staff were lovely, attentive and knowledgable and the food was wonderful. With one dairy intolerant diner we were surprised that almost everything could be easily adapted (rare in many places) and even a surprising vegan dessert on offer that catered to this requirement. We look forward to coming back regularly and for when the cocktail menu is available.

My friend and I live locally and enjoy cycling around the area. We used to frequent the fortingall hotel for lunch until it closed its doors and was sold so we were delighted once it reopened. We braved the heat wave and cycled out from aberfeldy to sample some food under the new management as it’s now claimed to be a luxury hotel so we were looking forward to eating something delicious. We arrived a bit hot and sweaty but made our way in to the hotel. …. No food served until 6pm even afternoon tea! The whole point of afternoon tea is self explanatory. We were offered tea and scones instead so being hungry we accepted. I also ordered an orange juice as I was thirsty after our cycle. The scones were nice and came with butter and jam sadly no cream and as for the juice can’t comment as it never arrived. all for an inflated price coming in at just under £20.00….. no cash accepted either only card.Went to use the disabled toilet as I have a slight disability but the toilet although not advised was broken and with no toilet paper etc so used their other toilets that were also let down with a lack of facilities mainly to dry my hands. Yes that’s nit picking however don’t claim to be a luxury hotel when you can’t even get the basics right.

Excellent Highland hotel and hospitality.
All aspects of the hotel were very good, all rooms were pleasingly decorated and as you would wish in a traditional highland hotel, even down to some whisky in the room. We requested a front room and this was provided. Great cooking.

Staff very friendly. Room clean and had everything we needed. Food was honestly the best we've eaten in a long time. Amazing dinner and breakfast! Peaceful setting but close to tourist points. Icing on the cake was being there for the live music in the pub. A perfect night away. We really hope we can come back soon.
