The Crown and Thistle ★★★★
"Fabulous staff, couldn't be more helpful. Food is wonderful, service great. Down side is the parking! Sat Nav takes you to the front of the hotel, car park is at the back which is hard to find. The hotel has no instructions on anything, complicated system on getting the lights etc to work. Air con is great but again, no instructions. A simple fix would be to have a folder on how to make things work! No lifts which for someone with mobility problems is a huge issue."
AbingPlough House ★★★
"The room was very warm and cozy, the bathroom large and clean, but everything is worn out, should be restored, breakfast was very weak, cold, because we waited about 40min.,although we were the first, reception was very cold, but thanks for this experience"
Hilton Garden Inn Abingdon Oxford ★★★★
"Very happy with our stay."
Dog House by Chef & Brewer Collection ★★★
Oxford South (Didcot) ★★★
"We booked a Premier Plus room here for one night because of its convenient location close to an event we were attending. The hotel is situated just off the motorway and directly opposite a service station with an M&S Food store, which was very convenient. On arriving at the car park, we did wonder what we had booked. There was scruffy outdoor furniture, rubbish bags lying around, and the overall appearance was untidy and poorly maintained. At reception, however, we were greeted by a friendly receptionist who was happy to check us in, saving us from having to use the self-service kiosk. Our room was on the first floor, and there was no lift, but once inside we were pleasantly surprised. The room was spacious, clean, and in good condition, as was the bathroom which had a walk in shower. The air conditioning was especially welcome on a hot night, and the room also included a fridge and tea and coffee-making facilities. An ironing board was provided, although there was no iron, with a hairdryer being available. The bathroom toiletries were adequate, but they were supplied in wall-mounted dispensers with removable tops, meaning they could potentially be tampered with. As a result, we chose not to use them. Overall, for the price, we were pleasantly surprised. While the exterior and surrounding areas could do with some much attention, the room itself was comfortable, well-equipped, and offered good value for money."
The Red Barn ★★★
Kingfisher Barn ★★★
"Very distinctive British country hotel, each house is very clean, fully equipped, and the floor heating is opened in May, so although it is on the first floor, it is very dry. Especially at night, it is very quiet, the yard is full of flowers and trees, and the yard is outside the vast pasture. You can see the vast starry sky when you look up. The experience is great! The hotel is basically unattended. Everyone's room number has been informed by email. When we check in, we enter the room and check out to the front desk to turn the key. There is a British girl at breakfast to help us make some simple breakfast and experience the British rural family life. It’s only half an hour’s drive to Oxford, and friends who have a car can experience it here."
Milton Hill House ★★★★
"Lovely grounds, nice leisure facilities Pleasant food, reasonably priced Great deals on offer from time to time so can be good value for money."
Courtyard Oxford South ★★★★
"Around 30 minutes by car away from Oxford city area via motorway. Offered free parking in front of the hotel. Suitable for who is traveling by cars. Add on 10 pounds for the breakfast. Variety is limited yet good enough to start a day with it. Room itself is wide and clean, just Marriott standards so need need to worry."
