Hotel Puerto de Las Nieves
4.2/542 Reviews
A good hotel in the beautiful fishing village of nieves. This is well worth a visit if you are touring GC. It's a super beautiful relaxing enchanting place with lots of fish restaurants. There are black sand beaches and rock pools. I think there are also some goid trails in the mountains. Hotel rooms are good with big balcony and breakie is good.
Occidental Roca Negra - Adults Only
4.2/551 Reviews
A really mixed bag and some very disappointing issues. Amazing location and very convenient for the port and sea pools. However.. the spacious room has very poor storage.. not one single drawer! Not particularly clean. A weird light above the bed glows all night.. very bad sleep quality. Air conditioning not working - we got engineer out but he said all the hotel affected. The room smelt really damp and horrible.. I put laundry detergent down the sink and flushed it out with hot water which improved it a bit. We therefore had to sleep with the door open but really bad light pollution from outside.. could not get room dark. Offhand staff in reception, very complicated voucher/checking in, a major effort to actually get a towel for the pool. Pool a great size but despite sign saying no entry until 10am which is very late.. we were told no entry until 11am! Crazy. Very few parasols about. Food - nice breakfasts with lots of lovely fresh fruit, lots of choice. Dinner a bit odd - a real mish mash of everything. The Juncal Restaurant is more like a canteen and reminded me of an underground car park! Very warm and humid. Lovely waitresses but rest of staff very offhand and not helpful.
