La Vista Kusatsu Hills
"The hotel was very clean, and the staff were incredibly polite. It was definitely worth the money I paid. I also got to try both types of private open-air baths, and the in-room open-air bath was spacious enough. All the meals were delicious and thoroughly satisfying. My only minor disappointment was that the next course was brought out very quickly, one after another, before I had even finished the previous one. This might have been because we had the 8 PM dinner slot. I'd recommend booking your dinner time early if you can. I wasn't able to choose and only had the 8 PM slot available. Also, I was advised that the earlier breakfast slots were recommended and that other times might not allow me to fully enjoy the meal, but that wasn't the case at all. Everything was fine."
Kamenoi Hotel Kusatsu Resort(Old:Kusatsu-Onsen Hotel Resort)
"Hotel bed is very comfortable with professional pillow however check out time is too early which is 10am"
Kusatsu Onsen Boun
"This was an extremely poor experience with no customer-centric approach whatsoever 👎👎👎: there was absolutely no service response, staff attitude was extremely rude, and handling was utterly inflexible. To make matters worse, despite falling seriously ill during my stay, I received zero care or consideration, and my request for a partial refund was flatly denied. Given the exorbitant price and complete lack of service, it was terrible value. I deeply regret choosing this hotel and would not recommend it to anyone!
Kusatsu Onsen-Kusatsu Hotel 1913
"Location is good near the walking street and the staff is very nice"
Matsumuraya Ryokan
"The explanation of the accommodation and the hot spring was very gentle and thorough. When we arrived in our room, there were manju (sweet buns) waiting for us, and the room itself was very clean. The breakfast was also absolutely delicious! We are extremely satisfied and would love to come back again!"
Shima Yamaguchikan
"This was my first experience with a semi-open-air onsen in Japan, and it had a wonderful nostalgic charm. The environment was peaceful and comfortable, with the inn surrounded by a forest. I was fine with a few small insects passing by. The Kaiseki dinner had a great variety of ingredients. They also had staff who spoke English, which was a big plus! It's definitely best if you're driving. I would go again!"
Tokinoniwa
"Overall, Kizunoniwa is definitely better than Konoha. Dinner was a delicious Japanese meal served in a private dining room, and breakfast was also good. My only minor complaint was that the rice wasn't quite up to Japanese standards. The location is quite far out. If you're heading to Ueno Station in the city, leaving the hotel at 9 AM and having a smooth journey, you'd likely arrive around 1 PM. The hotel shuttle takes ten minutes to the bus stop, then it's an hour and a half by bus to Karuizawa, and another hour-plus from Karuizawa to Ueno. The main delays are due to waiting for various connection times. It snowed on our second day, which was truly beautiful. I'd love to come back during autumn leaf season if possible."
Kusatsu Onsen-Kanemidori Ryokan

Hotel Sakurai
"The hotel is good, especially its onsen and food (both dinner and breakfast). I would return to this hotel again when I come to Kusatsu."
Kusatsu Now Resort Hotel
"It's very warm in winter, very good👍 Environment: It's about 15 minutes uphill from Yubatake, but the hotel has a shuttle bus🚌, which is coffee-colored. Service: The phone number left by the hotel on Ctrip cannot be dialed."
Shima Tamura
"You have to walk up a steep slope. It is not recommended for elderly people who don't have a car to take them there. The hotel is very old and dusty."
Karuizawakurabu Hotel 1130 Hewitt Resort
"Only that we don’t like the poker face staffs in the dining area even she wears a facemask. Didn’t hear our please to assist us. A girl looks foreigner (not Japanese) Hope the HR Management in dining area to train them well."
Tsumagoi Prince Hotel
"Our room had a mountain view, and it was nice and open with a wide view of the sky. The room was spacious and there was a sofa, and there was plenty of room to spread out our carrier. Best of all, there was no step to get to the unit bath! I think this is rare and really appreciated. The water pressure in the shower in the private room was good and we could switch it on, which was great. As we were on top of the mountain, the path to get there was rough and there were monkeys around, so we hurried to get there before the sun went down, and we weren't able to buy dinner in town, so we had to eat cup ramen. It would have been nice if the convenience store, which is open until 9pm, had a few more options for late-night snacks."
Ekinariya Ryokan
"This is my second time staying here. I think it's great value for money. There are only 6 rooms, the large communal bath is not crowded, and each room has its own private bath. There is a parking lot and the location is perfect. The unused rooms are used as private rooms for private meals. They are served almost all at once, but considering the cost of accommodation, it's not a problem. If it were closer to my house, I would definitely consider staying here again."
Kusatsu Onsen Eidaya
"The room is spacious and the private bath is very clean"
Kusatsu Onsen Hotel Ichii
"The hotel position was amazing in the center, very clean ,the room was so big, the food menu really good and tasty. Everything was perfect thank you so much hotel.🩷 we wanna come back there!"
Manza Kogen Hotel
"We had a wonderful stay at Manza Kogen Hotel. Its mountain location offers a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere, making it a perfect place to unwind and enjoy nature. The onsen facilities were excellent, with a variety of hot spring baths that were both relaxing and enjoyable. The breakfast was also very good, featuring a delicious selection of traditional Japanese cuisine that gave us a great start to each day. The only downside was the lack of Wi-Fi in our room, which made it inconvenient to stay connected. However, this was a minor issue compared to the overall experience. Overall, Manza Kogen Hotel is a great choice for anyone looking for a quiet mountain retreat with excellent hot springs and authentic Japanese hospitality."
Kusatsu Onsen 326 Yamanoyu Hotel
"Hot springs, breakfast, and yukata are all included, and for this price, it's an excellent deal!"
Kusatsuonsen Hoshikawa
"It was very clean and the service was excellent. ✨ They also provided transportation to the Yubatake, which was very helpful. 🚗 The food was delicious, and I'd like to use it again. Thank you very much. 😊"
Hotel Spax Kusatsu
"The staff were amazing, incredibly helpful and spoke English well. The onsens at the hotel were also great, the open air switches between female and male eaxh day though as they only have one open air onsen"
Konoha
"It was my first stay in this hotel and it was one of the greatest experiences I ever had. The hot springs are outstanding and I really enjoyed them. The hotel itself is historic and shows his age, but once you immerse yourself in the hot springs, non of that matters. The warm hospitality of the staff and charming atmosphere of Showa Japan make this place wonderful."
KusatsuOnsen AeruyadoTakamatsu
"The hotel is beautifully decorated, has a balcony, and is very clean. The location is excellent too; you can walk to the nearby Tatsu no Yu hot spring, which has superb water quality 👍🏼. The room has a tatami floor, and the TV has Netflix, though it's a bit small. It's great that the front desk staff speak Mandarin and English."
Kusatsu Onsen Hotel Village
"I truly believe that if you wanna have onsen like locals and this is the place! The room that I booked I thought choose between western or Japanese style and came out to be our room having two. And one jacuzzi. It’s a very big room for two. However it’s old and needs to be replaced for better experience."
Osakaya Ryokan
"It was an old building in Kusatsu Onsen, and I could feel the atmosphere of a traditional inn. The next morning, it was snowing, and the scenery was completely different from the first day. They cleared the snow from my car, saw me off, and greeted me when I left. They were very friendly. I would like to stay here again when I go to Kusatsu Onsen."
