"Very atmospheric and cozy ryokan. Traditional style room and majestic mountains view are breathtaking. The food is fantastic, you dine privately in peace and also provided with unlimited amount of drinks for 90 minutes. There are private and common (men/women) baths available. Water temperature is comfortable and magically washes away your fatigue. Personnel is kind and helpful, they used translator to explain everything to me. I was provided with shuttle bus on check-in and check-out to nearby station (kawaryo onsen station). This place is perfect if you want to detox from city bustle and cleanse your thoughts. Nearby konbini is 1h away on foot (or 15 min on car) so I advise you to stock up your supplies in advance if you need any."

"Conveniently located near the bus station and Yubatake, it's easy to explore the surroundings. There's even a Jizo-yu foot bath right outside the hotel, which is much less crowded than Yubatake. The hotel itself is relatively new. Our room would have been fine for a normal couple, but it felt a bit cramped with an extra person. The hotel's own hot spring bath is a bit small, but the water temperature was good. The breakfast and dinner have a noticeable Western-fusion twist, which was alright."

The hotel is well-maintained. We absolutely loved the onsen at the hotel – it was incredibly enjoyable! It was clean, beautiful, and comfortable. I particularly want to highlight the breakfasts and dinners; the selection was absolutely superb. Highly recommended!"

"What a dreadful hotel! It is obvious that the owner spends as little as possible on maintenance and upkeep. The carpets are worn. The rooms smell of damp and mold. They even use kerosene heaters to warm the corridors. Ugh! It was no surprise that my son saw a rat scurrying past when we used the outdoor baths late in the evening. As for the food, I'm sorry, not fit for humans, adult or child. The sushi! Unbelievable. Disgusting. My wife was charged 6,000 yen to enter the dining room (she was smart and had booked a room in another hotel). There was nothing she wanted to put on the plate. I ate nothing. Neither did my daughter-in-law. Even my son who has a tremendous appetite could find little. My wife summed it best: school meals are far superior to what Hotel Green Plaza Karuizawa offers its guests. We never bothered to even try the breakfast. And by the way, the hotel isn't even in Karuizawa. It is a very long drive from Karuizawa proper. Seriously, think again before booking this hotel."

"Those who like private hot springs can choose a stand-alone cabin room, which can accommodate small groups of 10-14 people! The space is large, equipped with a small kitchen and a living room, and the CP value is very high! However, the surrounding environment is slightly away from the city, so it is recommended to prepare dinner and then return to the B&B to enjoy or cook! The owner of the B&B was very considerate and took us there, and also took us to the station when we checked out!"
