Elounda Bay Palace, a Member of the Leading Hotels of the World

Beach is small but very good , nice soft sand , protected from wind , transparent water. Buffet. One for breakfast and dinner looks like cantina with too many package tourists not a pleasant spending time there And that’s a real pity that the hotel doesn’t have only breakfast. Rooms with a mountain view are not having view at all only to the plants in front of hotels , all mountains are closed by the bushes , if you book this category of rooms ask for the highest floor

This was our 4th visit to Elounda Bay Palace, and the staff were very friendly and welcoming as always. We love this hotel and we were given an upgrade, as our previous booking was changed due to the rooms been refurbished. We were given a suite with a shared pool, which was a surprise. Lovely and clean, a bottle of wine with a bowl of fruit and local desserts on the table for us. The view was limited, but it was fine for the week stay. Our neighbours were happy to chat and we gave advice on the local area. We were on a half board basis, and the food was delicious and hot. A great selection of dishes available and really nice desserts too. The waiters & waitress were always there to help and we would have a nice chat with them during dinner. We only had water during our meals, and we already know about the cost of water so not an issue for us. We walked into Elounda every day to buy supplies. But unfortunately during our stay, there was a heatwave of 45c. So it was uncomfortable but we just took our time. Because of this, we hired a car for 2 days to take the strain of walking in the heat. There are plenty of sun beds available and the sea is a nice temperature. I did use the pool, which we had to share. I personally don’t like shared pools, not that I don’t like sharing, it’s just that because I am on the Autistic spectrum, I like my own pool. That aside, it was a really relaxing, fun, and enjoyable week away. We have booked for a week in early June 2025 for my birthday, again. So looking forward to an amazing time and seeing the beautiful Elounda and the staff of the Elounda Bay Palace.

We recently returned from our stay at Elounda Bay Palace, marking over 25 years of various visits. Upon arrival, the senior management team recognized and welcomed us warmly, demonstrating their commitment to long-standing guest relationships. Many familiar staff members acknowledged us, creating a welcoming and familiar atmosphere. Our experience was deeply meaningful, as we were able to reflect on cherished memories with loved ones who are no longer with us. The hotel’s hospitality played a significant role in making our stay special. In particular, the spa facilities at Elounda Beach offered excellent service, ensuring a relaxing and enjoyable experience. Additionally, we revisited some of our favorite restaurants, including Kafeneon, where we celebrated a birthday with outstanding food and service. The buffet offerings at Elounda Bay Palace were excellent, featuring a different theme each evening, enhancing the dining experience. Service throughout our stay—from the restaurant and bar staff to the reception team—was exceptional, with attention to detail and professionalism. We extend our sincere gratitude to Mrs. Manioti, Mr. Dimitri, and the entire staff for providing such a memorable and high-quality stay.

Another return visit to this delightful hotel. Set in a bay with its sister hotel - Elounda Beach - with its own private beach. Many staff are loyal employees over many years who provide both knowledge and a sense of welcome comfort to guests. General manager Dimitris instills his own high values & standards in the staff who year after year provide a "can do" service with a smile. We found a good variety of buffet style hot & cold food for both breakfast & dinner with continual replenishment. Ideal spot for a quiet, relaxing holiday with excellent service.

A beautiful, peaceful hotel with attractive gardens full of old trees, private sandy beaches, clear clean water, great pool. This is a 1970s hotel - the spacious, well-appointed public areas retain an authentic retro feel - to my eye, fabulous, but don’t go there expecting steel and glass modern. Don’t expect loud music and late-night partying either. We appreciated the peace and quiet. Although many of the guests were older couples, there was a good mix of ages and families with small children - the beach and pool areas are safe for them. The food and service for breakfast and dinner in the main buffet restaurant was fantastic and we seriously over-ate. I can’t understand people who whinge about it. Our room was well-appointed with a great sea view - but I can see why people might be less happy with unrefurbished rooms. Excellent staff. Only drawback was price of drinks. There are other restaurants on site but we did not eat in them - expensive. You can walk to Elounda but it is not a great exercise in the heat.

I will keep it short. Overpriced drinks, furniture impossible to relax on as too low on the floor, food in the buffet always cold, deserted at night as everyone goes to the village of Elounda, where the food is hot and much better and there is entertainment. Impossible at lunch time as there is nowhere to have a light lunch. If staying just book breakfast and have an omelette (as this is cooked for you) and the only thing that is hot. All the buffet food was lukewarm or cold! The Sail up cocktail bar seating was ridiculous as there wasn’t enough seating and the bucket seats you fell back in. Everyone had to sit on the edge of their seats! Mostly it was empty. The expensive rooms with sea views are good and the housekeeping is very good. There needs to be a lot of improvement to warrant a 5 star.
