Naiades Boutique Hotel - Adults Only

Naiades Boutique Beach Hotel is finished to good taste and a high standard, and we really enjoyed our time here in September 24. We loved the quiet and relaxing setting, and dining and sunbed area set on a private beach front. It's perfect for getting away from everything, and a few km from Plaka and Elounda in either direction. The breakfasts were amazing as were the staff who couldn't do enough for us. In particular Eirini went above and beyond to make sure our stay was comfortable and special. We'll be back one day !

Sadly not a place I would recommend for a solo person as I received a downgraded room - I believe in part because I was an older solo woman traveler. I had booked and prepaid on Hcom for a superior sea view room - what I got was a partial sea view room. The woman onsite said it was the same class as what I booked - but even when you look at their website you see that it is 2 classes below the superior room. If she had said - hey we've overbooked we'll give you a refund that would be different, but instead she blamed Hcom when I asked about whether it was a superior sea view room. I think she thought I wouldn't know better - not understanding that I previously worked for ******* and well versed on rooms and classes. The hotel otherwise is fine - only breakfast served - and the 2 guys serving did well - but obviously not set up for success - how do you not have salt and pepper on each table - 10 tables sharing 2 sets of S&P seems poor by management for "luxury." The other challenge was that I had a do not disturb on the door - as I was lounging in the room and deck. As I was just about to jump in the shower - housekeeping knocked and as I went to answer - opened the door - even with the double lock on - with the DND! Again - this seems like a management issue - housekeeping should be trained not to do this - and if there is a question - they could have called the room - not let themselves in. There is a swimmable beach in front - the water is a little churned up by the passing by boats - but totally fine if you don't want to sit at a crowded restaurant with beach chairs. The town of Plaka is a few minutes away by car - I had a car - you may not need it as there are taxis around - but sidewalks aren't really there - so a bit of a challenge. I didn't go into AN - was pretty crowded.
