Rio Perlas Thermal Resort & Spa

The hotel has a nice atmosphere. You can walk around the hotel with many trails. Well maintained garden. Thermal pool was nice to relax. Staff were very nice. The room is old style. When we were there, toilet got bad smells during the night. No smell during the day. Something about the sewer system.

We pay for all inclusive but that was not the case we have breakfast buffet and that’s it, the bar was not open and the pools need work but is a beautiful place if you like nature and hiking this is the place the access by car is really easy and is close to the town where you can find anything

We booked an 8 nights for this hotel attracted by the name "Thermal". Once it's paid, we requested thru the travel agency and directly to the hotel for airport pickup as part of their service with extra cost, guess what, no response for a week. Not wanting to be stranded at the airport, we changed hotel, guess what, they keep one night hotel cost as their cancellation policy ... assuming this is how they make money.

We purchased a day pass to enjoy the beautiful hot springs at Rio Perlas Thermal Resort & Spa, and it was absolutely worth it! The pools were relaxing and well-maintained, and we also went on a scenic hike that made the experience even more special. One of the highlights was visiting the farm and getting to pet the animals—it added such a fun, unique touch. We had an amazing time overall and definitely plan to return when we’re back in Costa Rica!

Very disappointing experience. From the moment we arrived, the room was not ready at the designated check-in time. The receptionist consistently showed a complete lack of customer service and maintained a dismissive attitude (like "not my business"), repeatedly telling us she couldn’t provide an estimated time for when the room would be ready. When we were finally given access to the room, it was dirty and had an unpleasant odor. We asked to speak with the manager, but were told multiple times over the course of four hours that she was unavailable. Ultimately, we decided to leave. Additionally, the pool were so dirty and stagnant water due the lot of "day pass people" even when the hotel was full occupancy, what for me is a mistake. Finally a manager with "no time for the guest" is a terrible mistake. Quite the opisite the restaurant client service and food are the best of the hotel.

This place is a total enigma. The grounds are stunning, the rooms are big and beautiful. It looks like they put a ton of money into it. But oh how they miss the details! In a few short hours we experienced the following: our order of 2 ceviches and two beers took 15 minutes to come despite there being only 4 other people in the restaurant. And it was wrong and had to go back. The pool attendant had the personality of a prison guard. Then the power went out. Then when it came back on the coffee machine didn’t function. I had arranged in advance a meeting with the manager Paola about an excellent business opportunity with our significant hiking association that could bring hundreds of guests to her hotel, and she stood up 2 minutes into the conversation while I was in mid sentence to take a call and left me sitting there for 15 minutes and never returned. Not so much as an “excuse me, but…”. Nothing. Zilch. I walked out thankful that I got to witness all of this to steer our organization away from here! What a shame!

Very good for the price .

I recently stayed at Rancho Rio Perlas Resort & Spa in Orosi, and one of the best parts of my visit was the food and drinks. The main restaurant, Taberna del Capitán, sits right by the lake, making for some seriously stunning views while you eat. The menu is all about authentic Costa Rican flavors, and everything I tried—breakfast, lunch, and dinner—was fresh and full of local taste. But what really made the experience special was the service. There was a girl with the biggest, brightest smile who made every meal feel even better. She was super friendly, always making sure everything was perfect, and just had a way of making guests feel welcome. Another highlight? The swim-up bar. There’s nothing like sipping a cold drink while chilling in the pool—it was the perfect way to unwind. All in all, Rancho Rio Perlas nailed it with the great food, breathtaking scenery, and top-notch service. Definitely a spot I’d recommend!

Hotel Rancho Rio Perlas is a beautiful place to stay. The room was nice and the bed was very comfortable. The grounds are well kept and the pool full with warm thermal water is the best place to spend the end of your day. The food was delicious and the staff is super friendly. Jean was really nice and Silvia always greet us with her beautiful smile. Always happy. I highly recommend this place if you want to relax.
