Hotel Rupertihof

Hotel Rupertihof

📍 Rupertiweg 17, Ainring
★★★ 7.7 (35 reviews)

"Positives first. Lovely frontage to hotel, large free car park, good comfortable bed, decent power shower and food was good all round - breakfast and evening meal. The dining experience was a bit strange and at times the waiters were bordering on being condescending and rude. We were also witnessed staff having a bit of conflict with each other - not very professional. The room 'with balcony' was OK but literally overlooked two other balconies, that were next door, and the back stairs - no view and absolutely no privacy. The room was dark and hot even though the weather was cool but opening the curtains meant that anyone walking down the stairs was only a few feet away. The bathroom was also a huge problem. Extremely hot, like a sauna, with a musty smell of blocked drains. Also the entrance to the bathroom was so small and the nonstandard sized narrow door wouldn't open properly as there was doorstop to stop the door smashing into the shower. We are both quite small but I think a larger person would struggle getting in and out! To top in all as I was sat on the bed, in a state of undress, trying to cool off after coming out of the 'sauna' one of the room service personnel walked in! - at 8.20 am. We reported the heat and the smell in the bathroom to the reception and they were very dismissive. 'All the bathrooms are the same size, they are not hot and don't smell' was the reply. Only staying 2 nights we left it and went out for the day. On checkout we weren't asked if we enjoyed our stay - again unprofessional - so I offered the information that the room was not to out liking and definitely not to the standard of what was advertised on the website. I was told that there was nothing wrong with their rooms - and then the receptionist walked away! We were moving on to somewhere nicer and didn't want it to spoil our holiday but I would definitely recommend avoiding this 'Faulty Towers' establishment."

Bayern Chalets Bei Salzburg Und Berchtesgaden Mit Whirlpool Und Sauna

Bayern Chalets Bei Salzburg Und Berchtesgaden Mit Whirlpool Und Sauna

📍 Moos 2, Ainring
★★★★ 9.4 (30 reviews)

"We stayed 3 weeks at Bayern Chalet and had a very pleasant stay - up to a point. Staff was very kind and helpful. Our chalet was perfect for us bringing 2 dogs with us. Unfortunately our stay got ruined the last day, when we were checking out. Having difficulty with our credit cards, (after all we ended up paying about 10000 Euro) the owner, Hr Berger, an elderly man in traditional tirolean costume, got hysterical. He refused to coorperate and didn’t want the last part of the amount via bank transfer that could have solved all problems for all of us. We had already prepayed an amount from home via bank transfer several months before, so of course it could not be a problem. But Hr Berger, being very inflexible, insisted, we could not leave his premises before paying in cash or credit. Calling our bank eventually made it possible for us to pay the last amount by credit card. In meantime the manager, because if his unpleasant, hysterical and evil attitude, absolutely destroyed an overall nice stay at the chalet. Not a cheap prize to be treated so badly. Unfortunately, it isn’t easy not to think of 3. Reich when you meet types like Hr Berger in Germany. I’m sure he is fond to read, we will never come back. We, on the other hand, are quite shocked that such people still exist. How can they run a hotel? I feel very sorry for the staff."

"This is an amazing Hotel, exceptionally clean and well maintained with beautiful rooms and spa centre. The staff are just brilliant and can not do enough for you. Unfortunately British Airways cancelled our return flight to Gatwick re-routing us to Munich. The staff helped us plan our journey reliving us of any stress. The food is amazing, my wife is a coliac but nothing was too much trouble and they ensured her meals were gluten free. I would recommend this hotel to anyone. It is also linked to a wellness centre 10 min walk away which is fantastic."
