Ookawaso

I visited this ryokan because I heard it resembled a location from Demon Slayer, and it somewhat did. I booked a plan with only breakfast, and when I needed dinner, I thought I could eat at the ryokan's restaurant. However, they brought me something like a bento box in the lounge! It wasn't the dinner I had imagined. The private bath was also quite a distance away, and you could only soak; there were no facilities for shampooing. But, I did manage to relax and unwind!

This hotel is truly perfect for a relaxing getaway. The atmosphere is peaceful and the food is delicious. However, it's best to arrive after 2 PM, and you should eat lunch beforehand if you're not driving yourself, as you won't find food available during that time. The rooms are very spacious and located right by the stream. The onsen bath is beautiful, and there's an open-air room with an indescribable ambiance. There's also a large, affordable convenience store on-site. Plus, free drinks are offered from check-in time until evening.

I booked this last minute, about a week before Golden Week, so the room was a 'chef's choice' without dinner included. I didn't have high expectations, but when I got in, the view from the window was absolutely stunning. The large window made the room feel so open and the scenery was like a beautiful painting. The hot springs were also incredibly relaxing. I was thoroughly satisfied! Next time, I definitely want to try their dinner as well.

Overall, it was a pretty good stay with a very unique atmosphere. Unfortunately, I didn't book dinner in advance, so I couldn't eat anything at the hotel that day, which was a bit inconvenient. It takes about 15 minutes to drive to restaurants outside. There were quite a few mosquitoes and bugs in the outdoor hot spring, and after soaking, my back and body were incredibly itchy.

For a one-night stay with two meals, the price is quite good value for money. The room was clean, hygienic, and had no strange odors. The staff's service attitude was excellent. It's a shame that the open-air hot spring was already reserved on the day, so I couldn't experience it.

The overall quality of the facilities in the public areas and the staff service were quite good. It was just the room and meal offerings that didn't quite meet expectations.
