My stay was in wintertime. The hotel is made of old Japanese style house, which did not have sufficient heating system. There was an air conditioner in the room but the room was always too cold to stay and uncomfortable.

The baths and rooms were carefully maintained, and the breakfast of grilled mackerel and freshly cooked rice was delicious, making for a very relaxing stay. Due to circumstances, we were unable to have dinner in the evening, but my companion and I were talking about wanting to return next time for dinner around the hearth. The staff and the landlady were very kind and welcoming. Thank you for your hospitality!

Very cozy atmosphere of an old house with many steps and corridors. It was cool, but you can warm up under the kotatsu. Dinner and breakfast are very tasty and varied. In the irori style, it is pleasant to sit by the fireplace. They cook fish and meat on the fire in front of you. Large selection of sake. The staff was friendly, they were happy to explain certain dishes. The onsen has 2 baths: an open one outside and a closed one, but with glass, where you can see part of the garden. I liked everything, I would repeat it again.

An inn in Higashiyama Onsen, Aizuwakamatsu. Both breakfast and dinner are served around the hearth. You can enjoy delicious meals in a tasteful atmosphere. The dengaku, fish, and vegetables are all delicious, but the horse meat sashimi in Fukushima is exquisite. Unlike Kumamoto, it is made only with lean meat and is as soft as tuna. You can enjoy your meal while talking with the friendly staff about local sake. The inn is 75 years old and has a lot of character. The toilets have been nicely renovated. If I had to say one thing, it's a bit cold as it is made of wood.
