I had read a lot of negative reviews but had read positive so went with an open mind. I was there with x2 teenage boys, the pool amused them for a few days then they were bored, the slides aren’t on at all times only certain times which isn’t good when trying to amuse kids/teenagers and the pool is quite small and there’s nothing else for them. The hotel is quite far back from the beach, took us a good 20 min walk in the heat to get to, Alanya is a bit like a city so it’s not a pleasant walk. The area around the hotel pretty run down, I did walk back at night alone and I didn’t feel scared although I would imagine some females travelling as single parents like me would. It is in a residential area that it is situated. There a mini market literally out the front of the hotel which is cheap to buy from, I didn’t buy any of the alcohol and I had heard about issues with the bar tabs so I just paid for coffee or ice cream as I got them. I did eat once from the pool bar and the food is good and a good price. The rooms, when I booked it wasn’t advertised that air con is a surcharge of 10 euros a day, which I thought was greedy I have never went to a hotel with air con and been asked to pay that amount daily to use it, the rooms at first glance they do look like advertised in the pics but they are desperately needing proper maintence, large exposed screws on door frame which I hurt myself on, a large open hole where sink is plumbed in under sink, the overhead shower did work, I didn’t think the rooms were cleaned properly after the prev people before me, bed situation I gave my children to x2 single beds in bedroom I slept on what was basically the most uncomfortable couch made up as a bed with the thinnest pillow but they looked comfortable, at 5.30 every morning I was awoken with the call of prayer from the mosque as it it situated very close to a large mosque. If going to Alanya with children I would recommend it would be better to go to the hotels down near the sea front as there’s not much for them here. The biggest issue for me that should defo not be allowed to happen is that there was the guy from Alanya ink who comes in and touts for business everyday around the pool and won’t take the answer that you do not want a tattoo, one day when i saw him coming back again to me I had to jump in the pool to hide from him just to get peace, that isn’t what you want to be doing on holiday.
