Myself, my partner and our 20m old son have just returned home from our weeks stay at Grand Kaptan. Wow, as first family holiday goes this was absolutely perfect! Upon arrival (midnight) we were given a mojito which was needed after a long 10 hours of traveling, we then asked if there was a light snack available for our son who was starving due to a long journey, we were told to wait in the restaurant and someone would be with us, after five minutes the guy returned with a bowl of soup each, an array of bread and some side salad and meat. A lovely touch and much needed (we were only expecting toast or something for our toddler) The staff were so polite and extremely attentive. By the end of our first day they knew our sons name and made him feel like a celebrity with all the high fives and cuddles. We felt so welcome and at home at Grand Kaptan. Our room was spacious and our view was stunning. We had a sea view and could see the small pool area with the slides. - we didn't spend long in the rooms so it was fine the way it was, albeit the decor was abit dated. The mini bar in the room was fully replenished each day with 2x cola, 2x fanta 2x beer and 2x bottled water. Each day the cleaners would clean the room to a good standard and leave fresh beach towels for us. The restaurant staff were very welcoming and attentive too, always greeted with smiles and waves and accomodated our requests for our son. The staff were constantly on their feet, replenishing our drinks and always ensured there was a highchair available for us. The food was of good quality, although some days were repetitive, but it's what you get with every all inclusive hotel. The only thing we did miss was a proper breakfast - it was very much pastry based with fruits, salads and cheese/ham etc. We missed our English breakfast but as we were not in England we can't complain about that! The cakes and deserts were absolutely beautiful! All inclusive was well worth the money, we didn't go outside the hotel to eat as there wasn't much in walking distance besides other hotels (we didn't walk far due to having a toddler) they had hot drinks, fizzy pop, juice and cocktails. The pool bar served flatbreads, there was also a bar which served ice cream and fruir and biscuitd. The beach bar served burgers, pasta and toasties. The private beach section was a lovely touch as it was so quiet and you could use the beds for free and get as many drinks as you wish. The hotel had only opened up for the season 3 days before we arrived so it was very quiet, the mini disco was fun, however they only stayed doing later shows the last two days of our stay due to the hotel picking up a little. Not sure what it will be like in busy times. Just a side note, about a 10 minute walk from the hotel is a ***** of shops which sells designer clothes (obviously fake) but decent quality for very cheap. We did pay in Euro as we were told it is preferred now, but they do also accept lira and Sterling. Overa
